Steve Rogers returning all the Infinity Stones after Avengers: Endgame is imagined as a six-part comic book series in new fan art. Marvel Studios is now moving away from the Infinity Saga by focusing on Phase 4. But there's still continued clamor about what exactly went down during the former Captain America's final mission after the defeat of Thanos.

After the Mad Titan was taken down, there was only one mission left: return all six Infinity Stones that were collected during the time heist to prevent any branches in the timeline. Endgame only saw the beginning and the supposed end of that adventure for Steve, leaving everyone asking what exactly happened to him during his multiple jumps in the past. So although Marvel Studios has essentially moved on and the MCU now even has a new Captain America in Sam Wilson, there's still clamor to see Steve accomplishing his final task. Initially, the idea has been pitched as a film or even a series on Disney+, but as seen in these new illustrations, it could also be through comics.

In a series of fan-art from digital creator jacombcrump_art, Steve goes through all the timelines visited in the time heist to return the crystals in his post-Endgame mission via a six-part comic book arc. The narrative ends with him going further back to the '70s to bring back the Tesseract where he reunites with Peggy. Check out the illustrations below:

There have been persistent rumors that Marvel Studios is trying to get Chris Evans back to the MCU just a couple of years after he retired via Endgame. Both the actor and Kevin Feige denied this, but it didn't stop the murmurs, especially since there's a perfectly good reason for him to come back and reprise his role as Steve Rogers. Aside from just wanting to see the character's last mission play out, moving forward with this proposed project will also answer questions about how really the idea of time travel works in the franchise as Steve's jump back to the main MCU has resulted in contradicting answers from Endgame's directors and writers.

Whether or not Marvel Studios is tinkering about heeding to fan clamor and actually do this proposed project is still unknown. But if Feige and his team decide to do it, there are various formats that they can tell this story with. Ideally, it would be through a film and even a six-episode TV show considering how successful the MCU has been with its Disney+ content. But in the event that they can't bring Evans back after Avengers: Endgame, a comic book series could also be a viable option.
