There are several heroes responsible for the outcome of Avengers: Endgame, but the real hero is someone that no one saw coming. After the end of Avengers: Infinity War, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was left in a position where the original six Avengers and a few friends would be all that was left to try and undo Thanos' snap in some way. The original six Avengers - Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and Hawkeye - all survived and largely spearheaded their plan.
They were not alone in trying to restore the universe, though. Nebula joined the team after being the only one left on Titan with Iron Man, while Rocket and War Machine were part of the survivors on Earth. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel survived the snap and returned to Earth on short notice and eventually saved Iron Man and Nebula in space. The other member of the team was Ant-Man, and his time in the Quantum Realm jump-started the team's plans to go back in time and steal the Infinity Stones.
While this could make Ant-Man seem like the hero of Avengers: Endgame in many ways, there is someone else - or rather something else - that really is. Screen Rant's newest video is completely dedicated to the true hero of Avengers: Endgame... a rat. Thanks to the curious rodent, Ant-Man is freed from the Quantum Realm and makes it possible for him to present this option to the other heroes. Learn more about the surprising hero of the movie in the video at the top of this post.
It is shocking to see that in a movie filled with powerful characters, it is actually a rat that makes all of the events of Avengers: Endgame possible. Iron Man believes that Ant-Man surviving the Quantum Realm itself is a one in a billion cosmic fluke, but that number may be even higher if he knew a rat is completely responsible for him being there at all.
While this rat does have a role to play in the lone future out of 14,000,605 that Doctor Strange saw coming to fruition, it was still up to the main characters of the MCU to do whatever it takes afterwards. There were several different instances where they may have almost messed up the entire outcome, but everything managed to play out exactly as Strange believed it would. Half of the universe had to be snapped away, Thanos needed to die early on, Ant-Man needed to be freed from the Quantum Realm by this rat, and so on. It is just that much more miraculous that Avengers: Endgame ended in favor of the heroes, and all thanks to this one rat.
