A new poster for Avengers: Endgame has been released and features the six original team members. Avengers: Endgame is of course Marvel's next highly anticipated title that will see the Avengers trying to undo Thanos' destruction from Avengers: Infinity War.
Marvel started out with solo superhero movies, before finishing Phase 1 with the superhero team-up film called The Avengers in 2012. The Joss Whedon directed movie included superheros that had been introduced in the previous five MCU films including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo replacing Edward Norton), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth). All of the heroes returned for Avengers: Age of Ultron, and last years' Avengers: Infinity War, except for Hawkeye, who retired to spend time with his family. Coincidently, all six of the original heroes survived Thanos' snap and are now being featured on a brand new poster for Avengers: Endgame.
Posting on Twitter, Marvel Studios recently shared a new poster with artwork from Turksworks. Marvel released a poster featuring several superheros back when they released the official trailer for Avengers: Endgame, but this new poster only features the six original Avengers members; Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye. The poster also seems to focus on their weapons of choice, which they will likely use to battle Thanos next week. An HD version of the poster can be seen below.
With as anticipated as Avengers: Endgame is, Disney and Marvel have been pulling out all the stops when it comes to marketing their film. Marvel has already released several trailers and TV spots for Avengers: Endgame as well as posters featuring the film's many heroes. They have even released 40 different Avengers Twitter emojis so that fans can tweet about the film. Other marketing such as the Avengers: Endgame Entertainment Weekly covers have also focused on the six original team members. With the mass amount of marketing Marvel is doing for the film, it makes sense that the marketing budget for Avengers: Endgame is the biggest of any previous Marvel movie.
It has been theorized that some, if not all, of the original Avengers members could die in Avengers: Endgame. Marvel certainly has the ability to do so, especially since some of the actors' contracts are up, but that isn't likely the sole reason why the marketing is focusing so much on the original team. Last year marked the ten year anniversary of the MCU, so Marvel is likely heavily advertising the original team since they are some of the most popular characters that fans have been following for a decade. No matter what happens to these characters, fans won't have to wait very much longer for Avengers: Endgame.
