Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) trusty robot Dum-E is featured in an Avengers: Endgame LEGO set, hinting that it may appear in the film. Fans would remember the droid as one of the two robots from the first Iron Man in 2008 that helped MCU's founding hero while he was building the Mark II (the other one being Dum-U). After his Malibu house was destroyed in Iron Man 3, Stark was seen hauling Dum-E from the rubble, giving the impression that it went with him to his brand new home in New York. The robot was last seen briefly in Spider-Man: Homecoming as Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) was packing the Avengers Tower in Manhattan after Stark sold it to new owners.

Dubbed the culmination of everything that has transpired in the MCU in the last decade, Marvel Studios is keeping specific plot details of Endgame still tightly under wraps, with its marketing supposedly only going to show clips from the first 20 minutes of the film. However, considering where things were left following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the remaining heroes - alongside the help of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and the returning Hawkeye/Ronin (Jeremy Renner) - will attempt to restore peace and order in the universe and take down Thanos (Josh Brolin) once and for all. With Stark being at the forefront of the upcoming battle, he needs to gear up for the most important fight of his life. Fortunately, it seems like he'll get some much-needed help from a longtime ally.

A brand new LEGO Endgame tie-in featuring Stark shared on Instagram by user den_of_geeks interestingly includes Dum-E, giving fans the impression that the robot could play a pivotal role in the film. The toy set sees Stark wearing the Avengers' brand new white matching suits believed to be used in their journey to the Quantum Realm in the film. Unfortunately, no other details were given with regard to Dum-E's part in the movie, but since it was a scene-stealer in Iron Man, fans are excited to see it in action again after all these years. Check it out below:

Dum-E is actually the first robot that Stark built in his father's workshop, so while fans haven't seen it for quite a while, it holds a sentimental value - no wonder it's stayed with the genius billionaire this long. Aside from helping build the Mark II, the robot also saved its owner's life after Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) stole Stark's second arc-reactor in Iron Man. At the brink of dying with no one to help him, Dum-E handed him the original arc-reactor that Pepper Potts' (Gwyneth Paltrow) encased in a glass display. Considering how intuitive it is, its and Dum-U's interactions with Stark were some of the funniest ones in the MCU inaugural project - something that fans wouldn't mind seeing more of.

Of course, the LEGO set doesn't confirm that Dum-E will appear in the film. But assuming that this is accurate, what does it mean? Since the robot is mainly used to assist Stark during his technological work, perhaps fans will see it alongside its owner working on a brand new creation in preparation for his upcoming bout with Thanos. Aside from the matching white suits with the rest of the Avengers, Iron Man will also sport a brand new suit that's more comic-accurate. Regardless, considering that the robot has been around since day 1 of the MCU, it makes sense that it'll reappear in Avengers: Endgame to further evoke the feeling of nostalgia for longtime followers of the franchise.
