Watch Iron Man's self-sacrificial snap from Avengers: Endgame in HD. The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity Saga, which recently wrapped up with Spider-Man: Far From Home, kicked off back in 2008 with the original Iron Man movie. Little did people know at the time Iron Man would launch Hollywood's biggest franchise of all-time, now totaling 23 movies that have collectively grossed more than $22 billion worldwide. The MCU is now host to a bevy of popular characters that will be headlining their own movies for years to come, but Tony Stark has long been its poster boy.

Including his cameo at the end of The Incredible Hulk, Downey portrayed Stark in 10 films over 11 years, concluding his incredible run with Endgame. In that movie, Stark ended the conflict against Thanos once and for all by using the Infinity Stones to snap the Mad Titan and all of his minions out of existence. This action took Stark's life, capping off his MCU journey by giving him an epic, heroic sendoff. It's undoubtedly one of the biggest moments in the MCU, and now fans can watch it again in HD.

YouTube channel Furious Trailer posted the clip, which picks up towards the very end of Endgame's final fight, as Doctor Strange indicates to Tony this is the Avengers' one chance to win. Stark then wrestles the Infinity Stones away from Thanos, says the immortal "I am Iron Man" line, and defeats the villain. Watch it in the space below:

This was the only ending for Tony the Endgame team considered, particularly since they already gave him his happy retirement following the "five years later" time jump. Even though Tony had settled down with Pepper Potts and was raising a daughter, he was still haunted by his failure in Infinity War, and couldn't help but return to the fold when the Time Heist was presented as a feasible option to make things right. In addition to making sense narratively in-universe, there's a meta element to Tony delivering the final blow in Endgame. The MCU began with his origin story, so it's only fitting the first era of its history ended with his noble death. Not every blockbuster franchise could get away with killing their biggest character, but the MCU is no normal Hollywood property and is set up to have great success despite Iron Man no longer being there. Their Phase 4 announcements at San Diego Comic-Con ensured the MCU is alive and well.

It won't be much longer until fans can experience Endgame in its entirety from the comfort of home. As the film recently passed Avatar to become the highest-grossing movie of all-time, it's only one week away from its digital release and will be out on Blu-ray in August. Viewers are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to pick up a copy of their own, adding Endgame to their MCU collections. It's because of moments like Iron Man's snap the film is so beloved amongst viewers, and there are countless other scenes people want to watch again and again.
