The possibility of Hulk drastically changing in Avengers: Endgame has resulted in no shortage of theories. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has turned the raging green monster into a fan-favorite character, thanks in no small part to the spectacle he can help deliver. However, when Avengers: Infinity War was released last year, Hulk was almost completely absent from the movie.
Mark Ruffalo's Hulk did get to have a showdown with Thanos (Josh Brolin) almost immediately, but the Mad Titan quickly put Hulk in his place - and he didn't even have to use an Infinity Stone to do it. This beatdown resulted in Hulk being sent to Earth to warn the Avengers of the threat that would soon arrive, but he instantly reverted back to his regular Bruce Banner form. Despite coming face to face with the Children of Thanos and being put in grave danger, Hulk refused to come out.
Hulk's refusal to cooperate with Banner and try to save the universe has left many wondering what his role in Avengers: Endgame will be. In the latest Screen Rant video, we dive in to all the different theories about how Hulk may change dramatically from Infinity War to Endgame.
Some of the smaller theories mentioned in the video include Hulk's fear of Thanos lessening or that he's even spent time training to become a better fighter. There's also many that hope to see Hulk be more powerful in Endgame because his anger can make him stronger, or that Bruce and Hulk will be split into two different beings. Both of these latter theories would be elements lifted straight from the comics, and Marvel Studios does love to adapt these moments when possible. A theory even exists that Endgame could reveal that Hulk has been a Skrull, a shapeshifting alien, this whole time.
One of the most popular theories about Hulk in Endgame though is that he is actually Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in disguise. This theory has gained quite the following, but it still seems like a bit of a stretch. The theory that may have the best chance of coming true is that Endgame will show a version of Professor Hulk. In the comics, Professor Hulk is the perfect medium between Hulk and Banner, as it has the incredible strength of Hulk and Banner's genius mind. Promotional materials for Endgame appear to show more of a mixture between Banner and Hulk, and he's even wearing clothes in his Hulk form, so this may be plausible.
