A brand new Avengers: Endgame fan art imagines Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) all suited up as Rescue and ready to save Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) from space. Last time fans saw the very first female power player in the MCU, she was on a jog with Stark as they plan their wedding and discuss having a son. But, if things pan out as expected, fans may reunite with her wearing her very own suit, making one of her most memorable comic book appearances come to life on the big screen.

While Pepper's fate following Thanos (Josh Brolin) successfully wiping out half of life in the universe in Avengers: Infinity War, she's expected to appear in Avengers: Endgame this year. It's unclear what role she'll play, but since evidence backing up rumors of her sporting her own suit started to pile up, fans quickly assumed that she'll take on her superhero persona from the comics known as Rescue. The idea has spawned countless fan art including this latest one which imagines her coming to save Tony.

Digital artist creativedesign16 created a mock-up of Pepper wearing her Rescue armor on their personal Instagram page. Based on the illustration's background, it suggests that Tony's soon-to-be-wife is on Titan, possibly looking for him. However, considering that he's been floating in space as seen in the first Avengers: Endgame trailer, it would be interesting how she eventually tracks him down, should this be the case in the movie.

It's important to note, however, that despite the plethora of fan art implying that Pepper might be the one to save Tony in space, this is still nothing but a theory for now. Multiple behind-the-scene images of Paltrow may have confirmed that she'll don her own suit, but it's still unknown why. Perhaps it's an armor her fiancé made exclusively for protection, granted that he's been having nightmares of Earth being invaded by extraterrestrials - which came to fruition in Avengers: Infinity War. After all, if he's able to tinker on his other superhero friends' suits and weaponry, it only makes sense that he made one for the most important person in his life.

That said, it would be quite frustrating to see Pepper finally suit up as she did in the comics just for the sake of it. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo carefully plan out their films, and in a jam-packed project like Avengers: Endgame, chances are that everything is done for the service of the narrative and the characters. Putting Pepper in armor and not having her do anything substantial would be a wasted opportunity. It would be best to give her a mini-arc on her own to justify the need for her to wear her own suit, which may well be the case.

Regardless of what Pepper's role might be in Avengers: Endgame, it's certain that it will be tied to her Stark's story. As the film that is tasked to wrap up the MCU's 22-film narrative, it's only right that it gives the franchise's inaugural couple some focus. And, depending on what the movie's narrative holds for Tony Stark's ultimate fate, the upcoming Marvel Studios ensemble flick could be the last time fans will see the pair together on the big screen, at least for a while.
