Black Widow makes the ultimate sacrifice and does the infamous Snap in this alternate Avengers: Endgame fan art. The entire Infinity Saga came to a triumphant end with Endgame, which saw all the surviving MCU heroes set out to undo Thanos' (Josh Brolin) devastating Snap from Avengers: Infinity War. Fans knew going into Endgame that not every hero would make it out alive, and two of the original six Avengers ended up losing their lives: Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson).

Natasha's death came first, as she sacrificed herself on the planet Vormir to ensure her best friend Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) would get the Soul Stone and live to see his family once again. While Natasha was mourned by her fellow teammates, her death was quickly overshadowed by the massive final battle that ensued not long after. It was there that Tony made a sacrifice of his own, gathering all the Infinity Stones in a gauntlet of his own making and snapping his fingers to bring back all who were lost.

It was a fitting end for Tony, but that hasn't stopped fans from imagining alternate scenarios. This new piece from Camille Vialet sees Natasha make it all the way to, well, the endgame, only to take on the Snap herself. After all, as Vialet puts it in the caption, Tony's big moment wouldn't have been possible without Natasha; she made a sacrifice just as important as Tony's. Check out the piece down below.

Natasha's death in Endgame was met with decidedly mixed responses from fans, both because she was the only female original Avenger and she didn't get a funeral like Tony did. However, Natasha's finally getting her own solo movie with this year's Black Widowand director Cate Shortland recently said Natasha wouldn't have wanted a funeral in Endgame. Instead, the long-awaited Black Widow will serve as the ultimate send-off for Natasha.

Black Widow will dive deeper into Natasha's life than ever before, tracing all the way back to her roots as an assassin. Not only will Natasha return to the Red Room that trained her, but she'll reunite with her former Russian family. Fans have been waiting a long time to see Natasha get her own adventure, and they've had to wait even longer because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which delayed Black Widow from May to November. At the same time, it comes as a relief to know that while Natasha's arc might have concluded in Endgame, she still has one more story to share with fans.
