Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is congratulating Marvel Studios on the success of Avengers: Endgame, but also wants to meet with Kevin Feige soon. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is unquestionably the biggest franchise currently in theaters, and arguably is the most successful of all-time. The box office revenue for the entire cinematic universe climbed even higher after Avengers: Endgame's opening weekend shattered records around the globe. MCU movies are usually favorably reviewed and, while not every film makes a billion dollars, they're often profitable.
The incredible popularity of the franchise has helped make Marvel Studios' job easier in attracting talent, as major, rising stars like Brie Larson, Chadwick Boseman, and Benedict Cumberbatch are established to lead the MCU into Phase 4 and beyond. This success has also seen the likes of Angelina Jolie join The Eternals, and continues to draw in more high-profile names. Even if they aren't part of the universe yet, many in Hollywood are in awe of what Marvel Studios is doing.
One of these fans is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who's currently one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Last year he jokingly said he was ready to rumble with the Avengers if they dared, and has supported the MCU's continued success on his social media accounts. Now, Johnson is back on Instagram to congratulate the entire Avengers: Endgame team on the early success of the film. As he closed out the video (which can be seen below) though, The Rock also teased that he'll be meeting with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige soon.
He may not be part of the MCU, but Johnson is the star of Disney's Jungle Cruise (set to hit theaters next summer), and he's routinely praised the success of various franchises, so his congratulations on Avengers: Endgame's performance isn't too surprising. Johnson is no stranger to box office successes of his own - see Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle's surprising run or how he rejuvenated the Fast & Furious franchise - but even he can't compare to what Marvel Studios has accomplished here.
That said, his mention of eventually having a meeting with Feige is sure to get the minds of fans thinking that this could mean Johnson will be the next star to board the MCU too. His Disney connections and major box office appeal could make him a star that could further help carry the MCU into the future, but this isn't the only thing that they could be meeting about. Johnson's DC movie Black Adam is gearing up to start filming, so him joining the MCU would be somewhat surprising. Instead, Johnson may be looking to pick Feige's producer and storytelling brain, as his production company Seven Bucks Productions continues to expand, or to get tips on crafting the many franchises he's already a part of. But, if Johnson is interested in joining the MCU - especially after the response to Avengers: Endgame - then who knows what the future could hold for all parties.
