New concept art from Avengers: Endgame reveals an alternate look for Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. Though the character debuted in her own movie, 2019's Captain MarvelEndgame filmed beforehand. This meant filmmakers on that movie had to help establish the character's look alongside Larson. Captain Marvel doesn't play a huge role in Avengers: Endgame, but packs a punch with the screen time she has. Though many fans were surprised by certain aspects of the character's look in the final Avengers movie, many, including co-director Joe Russo, chalked it up to Larson and her hair and makeup team figuring out what worked for the character.

Captain Marvel's suit was another thing that changed between Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel. Originally, Carol was supposed to have the same one for both movies. As a result, Larson wore the same type of suit for each movie. However, Marvel then decided to to upgrade Captain Marvel's suit slightly for Avengers: Endgame and ended up using CGI to adjust. These sorts of changes happen often on superhero movies, as filmmakers are concerned with getting a costume exactly right. Characters sometimes change suits multiple times in one movie, which further complicates things.

Now, Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park reveals an alternate look for Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame. In it, Larson wears a suit with her flight jacket on over it, merging two parts of the character's life. In his caption, Park explains the jacket, which "she got back from Monica Rambeau. It would've reminded the viewer of where she's been in her own film journey." This connection makes sense, as it provides a bridge between Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, regardless of which one was filmed first.

Captain Marvel's success means a sequel is already on the way. Little is known about Captain Marvel 2 so far, other than it will be set in present-day. It also won't feature the original film's directors, as both Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck parted ways with the film. It's something that happens often with MCU sequels. Around the same time, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson left Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, citing creative differences. Though Marvel quickly hired Sam Raimi for that job, no one has been announced for Captain Marvel 2 as of now.

Concept art and suit designs are a key part of any superhero film, including Avengers: Endgame. In the case of a character like Iron Man, who appeared in several films over the years, viewers may see a dozen or more suit variations on screen. As Captain Marvel is a relatively new hero to the MCU but already a fan favorite, it's certainly possible the same could happen with her. However, as fans may not see Carol Danvers again for some time, they'll have to wait to find out which suit she wears next.
