While Tony Stark’s story might be over --at least for now-- in the MCU, luckily he has provided so many iconic moments for us all to remember. We’ve collected some of the very best from his swansong, Avengers: Endgame.

His Emotional Reunion With Captain America

At the beginning of Endgame, Tony and Nebula are rescued from space by Captain Marvel. When he finally makes it back to earth, Tony and Steve reunite for the first time since the dramatic events of Captain America: Civil War.

The reunion starts out rather heartwarming as it’s clear the two still share a bond and understanding of one another, but this meeting turns cold when Tony points out the ways that Steve ripped the Avengers apart. It was rewarding to see Tony get a chance to confront Steve.

Figuring Out Time Travel In One Night

Tony Stark might be a lot of things, but one of his best traits is how smart he is. He’s a genius, inventor, and scientist, and his inventions continue to impress. While the Iron Man suit might be his most iconic moment of brilliance, figuring out time travel is a close second.

It doesn't take him long at all to figure out the key to time travel. This moment was definitely legendary and shows that, even in semi-retirement, Tony Stark can’t help but be one of the smartest people on the planet.

His Relationship With Pepper

There were many heart-warming moments between Pepper and Tony in this film. While their relationship has been rocky at times, the two have definitely figured things out together. The traumatic events of Avengers: Infinity War and the Thanos snap brought them together for good, and their family life is rather sweet.

It was rewarding for many fans to see Pepper and Tony getting along so well in their marriage and to see them supporting one another.

Rejoining The Avengers

While Tony Stark had spent the five years since the snap laying low and living family life, at heart he is always a hero. Seeing Tony join up again with the rest of the Avengers and plan how to bring the dusted characters back was a rewarding moment.

There’s definitely no way that Tony Stark can sit back when he knows he can help others, so seeing him join up with his friends again was something to celebrate. The fact is, the team needed him and his intellect and leadership skills.

Commenting On Captain America's Ass(ets)

While many of Iron Man’s best moments in Endgame were more serious or heart-warming, some of them were really funny, too. Tony Stark is known for being snarky and witty, and he definitely had a few of those moments in Endgame.

The internet can’t get over the exchange between him and Ant-Man about Captain America’s ass. Clearly, Tony is aware of Captain America’s good looks, and, let’s be honest, that suit wasn’t Cap’s best one. This was a lighthearted moment that fans loved,  reminding us all how hilarious Tony Stark can be.

"I Love You 3000"

One of the best things about Endgame was seeing Tony finally get to be a father. This is clearly something he has wanted for a long time, but he didn’t always think he would be very good at it. Iron Man is obviously a very involved and devoted father, and his relationship with Morgan had everyone saying aww.

The moment where he tucks her into bed and she says “I love you 3000” is definitely one of the most memorable moments from the entire film. This scene really made Tony’s fate at the end of the movie even more devastating.

Seeing Peter Parker When The Snap Is Un-Done

The ending of Infinity War was emotional for many fans, and one of the toughest moments was when Peter Parker disappeared in front of Tony’s eyes. When the snapped characters join the Avengers in the final battle against Thanos, seeing Tony and Peter reunite had audiences feeling a lot of emotions.

This moment was heart-warming and made many viewers cry. Tony definitely always cared about Peter and wanted to protect him, so being able to see that Peter was alive again was really important to him.

Fighting Thanos With Captain America And Thor

One of the best moments of Endgame, hands down, was seeing Tony steal the Infinity Stones from Thanos and wear them on his own gauntlet. This was a full circle moment. When Tony said, “I am Iron Man,” once again before snapping his fingers, fans were definitely cheering.

Tony is a real hero here. While this may have been a triumphant moment, fans also knew that Tony likely couldn’t withstand the power of the gauntlet which made this moment a bittersweet one.

Sacrificing Himself To Save Everyone

Tony Stark’s death was one of the saddest moments in the MCU by far. Tony truly proved himself to be a hero once again when he sacrificed his life to save the entire universe. While Iron Man might not have always been the purest hero, he has always wanted to do the right thing and save the world.

It was gut-wrenching to see him die, and especially to see him die in front of the people who loved him.
