A brand new behind-the-scenes video of Thanos (Josh Brolin) fighting against Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Captain America (Chris Evans) in the final Avengers: Endgame battle emerges thanks to Downey. The three main heroes of the MCU, each one had their respective arcs leading to their face-off with the Mad Titan. Avengers: Infinity War showed them tackling the villain individually with no success, but when Earth's Mightiest Heroes re-assembled for the latest Marvel flick, the trio teams up to take down Thanos once and for all.

With the spoiler ban officially lifting for Endgame, the cast have started to share their snaps and videos while working on the film and Infinity War for almost a year. Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) began posting their personal videos last week, even while embargo was still up, offering fans a closer look at how they filmed the massive final battle for Avengers 4. But with now that the stars already have the go-ahead from directors Joe and Anthony Russo, not to mention the release of the latest Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer which heavily leaned on the death of Stark, a string of new BTS recordings make their way online including this latest one from Downey.

Taking it to his official Instagram account, Downey shared a short video of the three MCU main heroes against Thanos in Endgame. In the clip, the Mad Titan chokes Captain America while Iron Man tries to wrestle possibly the gauntlet (not shown as it will be added through CGI during post-production) from his hand. All this time Thor is just lying on the other side unconscious. In the caption, the actor said that Hemsworth slept through the whole take. It's unclear if it's the truth or just a playful jab at his co-star, but the Australian remains motionless even after the take is finished. Watch the video below:

It was a great creative decision for Marvel Studios to save all the core Avengers heroes for Endgame and let them survive Thanos' The Decimation in Infinity War. While not everyone was thrilled that they did another version of their fake death trope - this time in a much bigger scale with half of their roster of heroes disintegrating into dust, it serviced the narrative that they were trying to tell. It also allowed fans to have a proper film with the franchise's founding characters before some of them permanently say goodbye from the universe.

Looking at this particular scene that they were filming, it appears like a version of the final moments of the fight seeing Stark trying to remove the gauntlet from Thanos' hand - although considering that the secondary gauntlet that they made goes on the right hand, it might also not be the case. Perhaps Stark was pulling off the double-edge sword that the Mad Titan was welding during the fight sequence. Nevertheless looking at how this whole scene was staged, it's a bit that didn't make it on Avengers: Endgame's theatrical cut. It's curious, however, if it'll somehow pop out as one of the bonus features when the film gets release in home entertainment format.
