Warning: SPOLERS for Avengers #31

Fans always like it when their favorite things in the real world cross over into their favorite comics. Well, wrestling fans who also love comics will no doubt be happy to learns that Brock Lesnar exists in the Marvel universe. However, in what form he exists is another question. Avengers #31 takes place all the way back in 1,000,000 BC. Tony Stark was sent back in time when he came across an ancient version of one of his Iron Man helmets, which might sound bizarre to most people... but that's pretty standard comic book stuff.

Tony is doing battle with the prehistoric Avengers when he makes a quip about the muscular "Brock Lesnar Starbrand" member of the team. At the very least, readers and WWE fans now know that there is the potential for the famous wrestler and other Marvel characters to cross paths. Other than that one reference, it remains unknown as to what exactly is Lesnar's place in the greater scheme of things.

The most likely answer (via CBR) is that Lesnar is just like he is in real life, a wrestler and UFC fighter. But why waste an opportunity like that? Wouldn't it be fun if readers got to see Lesnar as part of the Nova Corps? Or even as a new version of the Hulk? Would his body even change if he was a Hulk?

Avengers Comic Iron Man Brock Lesnar

Celebrity mentions and cameos are nothing new to comics. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby made all kinds of appearances in the pages of their books back in the day. Even Geraldo Rivera popped up in the pages of X-Men comics back in the '70s. Ultimate Spider-Man featured a Carson Daly name drop. The "Ultimate" version of the Hulk was pretty upset with actor Freddie Prinze Jr once. There are so many other celebrity cameos in comic books worth enjoying and deciphering, it's impossible to mention them all here.

It also works the other way as well. Samuel L. Jackson was the real-life model for the Ultimate version of Nick Fury, a version so popular that the MCU actually has Jackson playing the part. So it stands to reason that even though Brock Lesnar was only named dropped by Stark in a passing reference, there is a lot of potential for the WWE superstar to appear in the pages of a comic book as well.
