While the coronavirus is continuing to halt film release dates, shut down stores and even shut the doors of its own Disneyland Shanghai, Avengers Campus will still open as planned this summer. Disneyland has even recently raised its prices in anticipation of the new section. In addition to announcing its July 18 opening date, Disney revealed that Spider-Man's attraction is officially titled WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. On this attraction, guests will learn to drive the Worldwide Engineering Brigade's latest invention in an action-packed shooter adventure. The ride will include innovative technology that allows guests to feel like they're shooting webs out of their wrists like Spider-Man. Brent Strong, executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, described the technology used on the ride during the shareholder meeting.

"We’re going to give you superpowers. There’s not a kid who has read a comic or watched a TV show or a movie who hasn’t walked away wishing they could sling webs, and we’re going to make that happen for every single guest. The new technology can render a virtual web coming directly out of your wrist and into that world without touching an interface. It’s as close to being Spider-Man as you can get."

Avengers Campus Spider-Man Ride

While WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure is the only ride and main attraction, there will be plenty of other components that appeal to all factions of the Marvel Universe in Avengers Campus. Guests will be able to watch an interactive stage show featuring Doctor Strange. Superhero fans can meet and greet their favorite Marvel characters at the Avengers Headquarters and even watch Spider-Man in action as he soars over guests' heads hopping from rooftop to rooftop. After a day of action-packed adventure, they can unwind by grabbing a bite to eat at Pym Test Kitchen. Marvel fans better buy their Disneyland tickets now.
