According to Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd is the king of trash talk among The Avengers cast, thanks to his intellectual approach to put-downs. Mackie plays Sam Wilson/The Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, getting introduced as Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) best friend in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In his first solo movie, Rudd was introduced as Ant-Man and first crossed paths with the rest of The Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, famously sharing quips and a fight scene with The Falcon in a pivotal scene in that movie.

The pair have since shared screen time in The Avengers: Endgame, during the climactic final battle against Thanos. While Rudd's return to the MCU will be a while yet, in Ant-Man: Quantamania set for a 2022 release, Mackie will be seen as The Falcon again later this year in the Disney+ live-action series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. That show will see Mackie teaming up with Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes following the end of Endgame, in which Captain America handed over his shield to Sam. In the meantime, the cast has been playing Fantasy Football against each other, and Mackie has revealed the best trash talker in the cast.

Speaking on The Tonight Show, Mackie reveals that even though Evans likes to talk a lot of trash, Rudd is the best trash talker. Mackie adds that Rudd's intellectual approach to trash-talking makes him so good at it, leaving his victims unable to retort. The star ends by saying Rudd uses words that he has to Google, leaving him unsure about whether he was just insulted or not and making him want to fight Rudd, as he can't compete with him verbally. You can read his full comments below:

Chris Evans talks a lot of trash. Paul Rudd talks intellectual trash, which is confusing because you don’t know if he’s insulting you, but you feel like it’s a diss somewhere in there. So he’s the guy you want to fight. You can talk back to Chris but Paul is like “eh?” By the time you’ve googled all the words in his insult, it’s too late.

Paul Rudd and Chris Evans in Captain America Civil War

It's no surprise that Rudd is the best trash talker. The comic actor has a public persona that makes him seem as though a joker, and it's clear that carries over into his private life, too. After all, there is a reason why Rudd was cast as the sarcastic, fast-talking Ant-Man, and he obviously takes his trash-talking seriously. As for Evans, his days of trash-talking the other Avengers on set were thought to be over, having retired from the MCU, but a report yesterday says that he's in talks to return, even if he denies it.

If that turns out to be true, all three actors may get a chance to reunite on-screen soon and commence the trash-talking in person, as opposed to the videos they've been sharing during the pandemic. But, if Mackie is to be believed, Rudd will clearly stand head and shoulders above the rest of The Avengers cast thanks to his intellect.
