Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four plans pose some issues for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but luckily, they already know how to fix it. Ever since Kevin Feige and his team regained character rights to Fox's Marvel characters, there has been interest in seeing what they plan for some of the brand's most beloved superheroes. For Marvel's First Family, a total reboot is necessary, considering Fox's inability to launch a sustainable franchise with the team. While Marvel Studios has long confirmed that Fantastic Four will be debuting in the MCU's Multiverse Saga, the plan for their upcoming arrival doesn't happen until the tail end of the ongoing narrative.

Initially, Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts was attached to the project. After he backed out from it, WandaVision director Matt Shakman was hired to replace him. Casting for Marvel's Fantastic Four is still ongoing, with countless reports claiming who is in the running to play Reed Richards and the rest of his squad. Specific plot details for the film are still scant at the moment, but despite being their first foray into the MCU, the movie will not be an origins story. Time will tell if the MCU can finally do Marvel's first family justice.

Like The Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange Was Also Introduced Late In The Infinity Saga

Dr Strange looking into future in Infinity War

Marvel's Fantastic Four won't come out until later in Phase 6. Based on the currently confirmed slate for the Multiverse Saga, it's the final film before the culmination of the narrative begins. Recently writer Jeff Loveness teased that the Fantastic Four may not be in Avengers 5, alongside Blade. Although this isn't a guarantee that it will be the case, there are some valid concerns about Marvel's First Family being debuted far too late into the storytelling to have a significant impact on the Multiverse Saga. They may feel out of place since it could be their first interaction with the Avengers and all their established allies.

The MCU had encountered a similar problem before, and luckily, Marvel Studios proved that they are able to fix it. Like the Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange also debuted fairly late in the Infinity Saga, and yet, he became one of the most important players in Avengers: Infinity War. Aside from his brief interaction with Asgardian princes Thor and Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, the sorcerer didn't have any prior engagements with anyone else in the MCU until Thanos' arrival. If Marvel Studios was able to make him relevant in Avengers: Infinity War and even, Avengers: Endgame, then they can do it again with the Fantastic Four in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

How Fantastic Four Could Be Relevant To Kang’s Story

Kang The Conqueror fights Rama-Tut in Marvel Comics.

At this point, there's no concrete indication that Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm will make an appearance in the MCU prior to their solo film. However, there are other ways to ensure that the Fantastic Four and their narrative are tied to the bigger Multiverse Saga story. Marvel Studios can look into Marvel Comics for inspiration and lean on the team's connection to Kang the Conqueror in print. Perhaps, Marvel's Fantastic Four's villain may have already debuted in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania with Rama-tut.

As one of the Kang variants introduced in Ant-Man 3's mid-credits scene, Marvel Studios can explore Fantastic Four's history with the villain before Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. In print, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #19 as a time traveler from the future who took over Ancient Egypt as its pharaoh. He lured the Fantastic Four into the past for an epic showdown. Since Marvel's Fantastic Four film won't be an origins film, this seems like the most sensible narrative for the film given what's happening in the Multiverse Saga.
