Zoe Saldana just might've spoiled a huge surprise for Avengers 4. Saldana's character, Gamora, dies in the course of Avengers: Infinity War. Gamora is killed by Thanos as he attempts to gain the Soul Stone. Informed by Red Skull, a shocking return in itself, Thanos must kill the person he loves the most to obtain the Stone. So, in keeping with his destiny, Thanos threw Gamora from a cliff, thus killing her and obtaining the long-lost Soul Stone.

As anyone who has seen Infinity War knows, the film ends with at least half of the cast dying or being erased from existence. Yet, Gamora's demise comes before Thanos snaps his fingers, thus wiping out half of all life in the universe. This has made many fans assume that unlike the deaths of Spider-Man and Black Panther and numerous other characters, Gamora's death would stick. However, Zoe Saldana might've accidentally spilled the beans, previewing a very different fate for the Guardian.

In an interview with E! Live from the Red Carpet, Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt discussed their time on Avengers: Infinity War's set. Then, when asked about how emotional it was to say goodbye to everyone when filming ended, Saldana said that it didn't feel like saying goodbye since they knew they would all be coming back to film the next movie.

"At least for me, it felt like a TBC, because I knew that we will have to all come back, at some point this fall, and finish up the second - the fourth installment of Avengers. So, it felt like 'See you later,' not like a formal goodbye."

Zoe Saldana as Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy

This off-the-cuff remark would appear to spoil a huge twist for Avengers 4. However, it's quite obvious that many of the deaths in Infinity War will be reversed at some point. Spider-Man already has a sequel in the works and Black Panther made over a billion dollars, and Marvel is already keen on making a sequel to that film as well. Plus, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is also in the works. Of course, there are many ways in which Gamora could come back that doesn't require reversing her death. She could appear in a flashback sequence, for instance. After all, Nebula does have the ability to play back memories as holograms. A new memory from Nebula would require Saldana to come back to set.

Although Saldana's comments do seem to suggest that whatever Gamora's role is in Avengers 4 it will involve interacting with a large group of characters. If Saldana thought wrapping Infinity War felt more like a "see you later" to the huge cast of the film, then it probably means there are plans for her to interact with more than just the Guardians cast, which would point to a Gamora resurrection.

There is one major way to bring Saldana and Gamora back for new scenes that don't undo her big death scene. The clues are in Infinity War itself. When Thanos snaps his fingers and destroys half of the universe, he goes inside the Soul Stone and interacts with a young Gamora, who asks him what his crusade cost. Though that particular scene didn't include Saldana (as the character was a child), Saldana could serve a similar function in Avengers 4. In a spectral form or even as a hallucination, Gamora could either guide or haunt Thanos. But this is all just speculation until the highly-anticipated sequel releases next summer.
