Directors Anthony and Joe Russo celebrate wrapping Avengers 4 with an epic (and appropriately themed) cake. There is still no official title for the film which will follow Avengers: Infinity War, the highly anticipated team-up film which will see all of our favorite heroes coming together to take on the mad titan Thanos (Josh Brolin). The 4th Avengers film will serve as the "finale" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it.

By the time Avengers 4 is released in the spring of 2019, the MCU will consist of 21 films spanning 11 years. It's an incredibly impressive feat that doesn't even take into consideration the amount of money the films will have made by that time (just wait until Black Panther comes out) and the always growing worldwide popularity of the film's stars. These films have changed the landscape of Hollywood and the idea of superhero film could be.

And now it's coming to an end. The Russo brothers took to social media to share a photo of the wrap cake (seen below) for Avengers 4. It looks amazing and hopefully tastes just as good. The cake features Thanos holding two infinity stones (space stone and the time stone) with others scattered below him and at his feet (the soul stone is still nowhere to be seen). The cake is decorated with a large Avengers A as well as the symbols of some of the founding team members on top of a very galactic looking icing. Trying to grab Thanos' layer of the cake are arms appearing to belong to Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Vision (Paul Bettany), and another unidentifiable figure. Is it just a cake or could there be clues hiding within that fondant?

It really is a fitting celebration for a cast and crew who have dedicated so many years of their lives to these films. After Avengers 4 it is likely we will not see the return of some of the founding members of the MCU with contracts up and new characters and stories to tell. While it's sad to see it all end, it is also exciting to see the what Marvel has in store next. After Avengers 4 they are set to make the untitled sequel to Spider-Man: HomecomingGuardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 (with potentially a very different looking team), and even (finally) solo film for Black Widow. Plus with Disney's purchase of Fox properties, including the X-Men there are only more superhero films to look forward to in the future.
