Zoe Saldana's previously posted image on the set of Avengers 4 may be proof that time travel will be a factor in the much-anticipated blockbuster. Eight months to go before MCU's Phase 3 capper hits theaters, Marvel Studios remains mum on the matter, not even announcing the movie's official title yet. Despite that, given the state of the universe after Avengers: Infinity War, it's expected that the remaining heroes, as well as Captain Marvel and Ant-Man, will band together in an effort to restore order in the galaxy.

While Gamora is supposedly dead after her adopted father, Thanos, sacrificed her in exchange of the Soul Stone, Saldana confirmed that she'll be back to reprise her role in Avengers 4, but how? It's no secret that most of the heroes snuffed out of existence due to the Mad Titan's deadly snap will be revived. However, since Gamora died differently, it's difficult to assume that she'll be resurrected the same way. One of the more plausible ways is to time travel, which is a concept that's been repeatedly assumed to be factoring in the film's narrative. And now, there might just be a visual evidence to back this theory up.

Reddit user with the handle SuperheroNick spotted an interesting detail about a previously posted Instagram image by Saldana where she seemed to be wearing Gamora's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 costume instead of the new one she's sporting in Infinity War. This prompted the fan to assume that this backs up theories about time travel playing a part in the movie's story. Check out the post below:

Obviously, Saldana's social media photo may not have been taken during Avengers 4 filming, however, a set video from last year corroborates with the assumption that fans will see Gamora sporting her Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1  suit at one point in next year's still-untitled ensemble flick. The clip, which was released August of last year, was in celebration of Day of Giving - a charity effort by Marvel Studios to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey, and was taken at Pinewoods Studios in Atlanta where both Ant-Man and the Wasp, as well as the twin Avengers sequels, were filming at that time. Looking closer at the video, people can see Saldana and even Karen Gillan both wearing Nebula's and Gamora's old costumes.

It's worth noting, however, that since Avengers 4 is undergoing reshoots, there is still a chance that things may change, especially for the Guardians of the Galaxy. Due to James Gunn's controversy that led to his firing and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 put on indefinite hold, Saldana's co-star Dave Bautista recently shared that there might be some narrative alterations with regard to the fate of the cosmic heroes considering that Marvel Studios will more likely veer away from Gunn's original plans for them. That said, it's highly unlikely that this will significantly affect the overall structure of the ensemble film's narrative given that it involves other characters aside from the Guardians.
