Thanos' battle armor returns in new promo art for Avengers 4. After years of teases, Josh Brolin delivered when it counted most. His role in Avengers: Infinity War radically changed the state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, setting up exciting possibilities for the followup. Despite the insane levels of secrecy Avengers 4 has had, the anticipation has not been derailed. Fans don't even know the title yet, and won't until the end of the year, but a now steady release of concept art is keeping the conversation going.

The unofficial marketing campaign started with promo art surfacing ahead of CineEurope that showed off the main team that Avengers 4 will assemble. More recently, though, a few new pieces have been discovered. Captain Marvel was a big focus of the first batch, with even some looks at the Brie Larson solo movie surfacing. Now, an array of new designs are out with a tease of Thanos' suiting up himself.

Twitter user @ajdesigns0220 once again discovered fresh pieces of promo art for Avengers 4. Among the various designs is one featuring Thanos in his battle armor. This was used sparingly in Infinity War, so it appears Thanos will once again find need for the suit.

From the very first time audiences saw Thanos on the big screen, he was wearing his battle armor. His attire was consistent through The AvengersGuardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. He started off wearing it for Infinity War, but took the protection off after defeating Hulk and acquiring the Space Stone. From that point on, Thanos relied on his natural DNA and the power of the Infinity Guantlet to protect him. When it comes to it then returning for Avengers 4, it should be a sign that the power opposing him could be greater even with smaller numbers.

Thanos barely escaped Infinity War alive, after all, and the Avengers will be united to take him down this time. Thor is mightier than ever; Hulk may be smarter than ever if he's Professor Hulk as previously theorized; and Iron Man surely has upgraded his capabilities and clearly passed those along to War Machine. Captain Marvel - who Kevin Feige previously called the most powerful MCU character yet - is also joining the fight, as is Ant-Man (who could just be the key to it all). Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye/Ronin, Nebula, and Rocket are also still involved. Thanos may just need the extra protection and weapon that's been seen in previous art to try and finish Avengers 4 victorious again.
