Avengers: Infinity War actress Letitia Wright gave away an Avengers 4 spoiler when discussing which actor she enjoyed working with on the films. Leading up to the release of Avengers: Infinity War, directors Joe and Anthony Russo started the #ThanosDemandsYourSilence hashtag in order to prevent fans from spoiling others before they'd had a chance to see the movie. Infinity War was also Marvel's most secretive project to date, which, considering Marvel Studios' reputation for secrecy, is undoubtedly saying something. However, human error accounted for certain spoilers still making their way into the world. In fact, Mark Ruffalo spoiled Infinity War last year.
Now that Infinity War has been in theaters for a month, though, many fans are already looking ahead to Avengers 4, which opens next May. Much of the discussion surrounding Avengers 4 has to do with the cliffhanger ending of Avengers: Infinity War, which left half the universe having turned to dust after Thanos snapped his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet. It's already expected many of the deaths at the end of Infinity War will be undone, presumably by using time travel in Avengers 4. However, Shuri actress Letitia Wright may have given away a little more about one returning character in particular.
While appearing at MCM London Comic Con this weekend, Wright was asked about who she most enjoyed working with behind the scenes on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 (the movies were filmed back-to-back in one long shoot). In offering her answer, as reported by ScreenGeek, Wright seemingly gives away an Avengers 4 spoiler pertaining to Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt):
Chris Pratt was genuinely a great person. He would like give me bible scriptures out of nowhere and then do a dance and leave. He’s great. I love Chris Pratt.
As those who have seen Infinity War will know, Wright's Shuri and Pratt's Star-Lord never share the screen in the film. In fact, Star-Lord remains in space for the duration of Infinity War, attempting to defeat Thanos on Titan, but ultimately failing. He's also part of the half of the universe who turns to dust in the wake of Thanos' finger snap. Shuri, meanwhile, remains in Wakanda, attempting to remove the Mind Stone from Vision before she's attacked and knocked out. As such, Wright's comment about working with Pratt on an Avengers movie likely means she's talking about Avengers 4.
We already knew there's a scene in Avengers 4 that includes "every character", but Wright's comment confirms Shuri and Star-Lord meet in the upcoming Marvel film - whether it's in that specific scene or not. Further, Wright's answer reveals not only that Star-Lord's death at the end of Infinity War is undone in Avengers 4, but he somehow winds up on Earth (or Shuri goes to space, but that option seems somewhat less likely). Star-Lord returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't too much of a surprise, Pratt is expected to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, after all. However, now we know Star-Lord returns to Earth and crosses paths with the princess of Wakanda.
So, although Wright's comments from MCM London Comic Con appeared benign, they actually offer a pretty big Avengers 4 spoiler regarding Star-Lord's character. Still, how exactly he comes back to life and winds up on Earth remains to be seen. Fans will have to wait until Avengers 4 hits theaters next year to learn what happens after Thanos has wiped out half the universe.
