An Avengers 4 set photo indicates Vision may survive Thanos' search for the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War. It has been a year-long process filming both Infinity War and the still untitled Avengers 4, with a wrap date expected sometime next month. Although sets are pretty much tightly guarded with most of the pivotal sequences done in the confines of Pinewood Atlanta Studios, we sometimes get hints of the rigorous process that the cast and crew are going through to put this massive project together, sometimes, we even get potential spoilers - like now.
Vision has always had a target on his back considering he sports one of the Infinity Stones on his forehead. The mystical gems are the focus of Thanos as he endeavors to collect them to execute his universe-altering plans. So it's not a surprise that Corvus Glaive, a member of the Black Order, is hunting Vision down to and is trying to take the Mind Stone from him as seen in the Avengers: Infinity War trailer. While many of us were understandably worried about his safety, it seems like he was able to get out from that dire situation unscathed.
The photo has emerged courtesy of Bettany himself, who took to his official Instagram to share a playful snap of him in costume as Vision. The photo may be posted for nothing else but pure fun, but given what we saw in the Infinity War footage, it has become an unofficial indication that perhaps the Android survives the Avengers' first round against Thanos. Bettany also posted a video announcing he's wrapped on Avengers, Check out the images below:
We shouldn't be that complacent, however. Over the last several weeks, set photos from Avengers 4 have teased several flashback sequences, and not just those that involve traveling way back in time to the '60s or '70s. We mean retreading steps from past events that have happened in the last 10 years of the MCU. We have shots of long-haired Thor and same-shirt Tony from the first Avengers movie, and more recently, a photo of Hope van Dyne sporting the short bob she had in Ant-Man when she now wears her hair long for Ant-Man And The Wasp. So seeing Vision in tip-top shape, with the stone still embedded on his forehead, is not a sure indication that he is alive and well by the time the Phase 3 capper film rolls out. It's also possible that the photo was taken during reshoots for Infinity War.
Bettany has previously implied Vision might be able to live without the Mind Stone that basically gives him the power to function. Although that is still questionable, we've seen him in the Infinity War trailer looking less red and more like a human, so who knows what he was able to discover about the powers of an Infinity Stone during his downtime between Captain America: Civil War and the next two Marvel ensemble flicks.
