A new Avengers 4 set photo hints at a possible new base for Marvel's greatest superheroes. With only a few more months until Avengers: Infinity War unites the vast majority of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there's still surprisingly little we know about the epic team-up. We've seen the first teaser trailer for Infinity War, but given how monumental the movie will be, most of its secrets have surprisingly managed to remain under wraps up to this point.
Since both Infinity War and Avengers 4 filmed last year, a number of set photos and videos from the productions have made their way online now. It looks like Avengers 4 will revisit the Battle of New York, at the same time that it sets the stage for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 4 is poised to introduce a new generation of Avengers, and it's possible they will be getting a brand new home-base to operate from.
Robert Downey, Jr.'s manager Jimmy Rich (via MCU Tweets) posted an image of himself and his client on the set of what's presumed to be Avengers 4. While the background is sparse, the massive Avengers logo seems to suggest we're looking at a new base for Earth's Mightiest Heroes, following the conclusion of the film.
While this might not be our first look at the new Avengers base, the giant 'A' in the background suggests otherwise. Much like the previous Avengers facility was revealed at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the new Avengers base could be introduced at the conclusion of Avengers 4, if not earlier (like, during Infinity War). Either way, Phase 3 will almost certainly wrap up with the new Avengers operating from a spiffy new base of their own.
Jeremy Renner has now wrapped Avengers 4, as have Scarlet Johansson and Elizabeth Olsen - meaning, Avengers 4 as a whole is expected to wrap filming any day now, already a month past its original end of production. The film's collaborators won't be resting for long, however, as reshoots for the mega blockbuster will be coming up sooner than later. When they begin, we may get more teases about the plot of the fourth Avengers installment. With that being said, fans won't know exactly what the state of the MCU at large is following Thanos' attack until after Infinity War arrives nearly a year before Avengers 4.
