WARNING: SPOILERS FOR AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR AHEAD

Not only is Avengers: Infinity War already the highest grossing superhero movie of all time, but it is also one of the most Marvel-ous movies of our lifetime.

The movie accomplished things no other movie could do in two hours. It made us feel for the villain, for the heroes, and for the fate of the entire cinematic universe. However, in order to evoke those emotions, it also had to leave us in the dust.

Infinity War left a huge hole in our hearts and many questions on our minds. Where is the MCU going now and what can we expect to see from some of our favorite superheroes in Avengers 4?

According to Anthony Russo, the answer is anywhere.

He said, “These stories can go in any direction. People become accustomed to the linear timeline. There are different directions to go other than that. There are many possibilities and what I think we find exciting about the future for the MCU is that everything is open now to possibilities. That’s the one thing we always used to say, with Marvel everything is possible, which is the amazing thing. So, I think there are inventive ways to find new stories that are hard to guess at."

However, we’ve done our best to make those guesses.

So, it’s time to clear the dust and set our sights on the future because here are the 13 Rumors About Avengers 4 We Hope Are True (And 12 We Hope Aren’t).

HOPE: The Avengers Will Seek Out Thane to Beat Thanos

Thane Marvel Comics

In Infinity War, we were introduced to the biggest and baddest villain of the MCU, Thanos. We also learned more about his relationship with his children and his exceptional love for Gamora. However, the movie doesn’t show a key member of his family – his son.

Thane is the secret son of Thanos and an unnamed Inhuman woman. In the comics, Thanos went on a hunt for his son disguised as a galactic conquest.

However, when he found his son, Thane’s powers were unleashed, and he ultimately defeated his father. From then on, the son of the Mad Titan devoted his life to fighting for a greater good.

If Thane exists in the MCU, he could be the key to defeating the Mad Titan and potentially reversing the fate of the universe.

The Avengers could learn about an innocent and uncorrupted Child of Thanos with the abilities to stop his father and Avengers 4 might showcase an all-out race to get to him before Thanos does.

This would also add to the strong family theme throughout the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy movies and provide another emotional dimension to the treacherous villain’s backstory. Who better to defeat the Mad Titan than his own son?

Maybe Avengers 4 could be called Avengers: Son of Thanos.

HOPE NOT: Everyone That Disappeared is Actually in the Soul World

At the end of Infinity War, Thanos eliminated half of the universe with one single snap. But that can’t be the end of the Avengers, right?

Some of the big-name heroes that bit the dust in Infinity War have huge solo movies coming out in the next couple of years. So, with Marvel Comics’ loose definition of mortality, rumors have started spreading about how these heroes are expected to return.

One of the biggest rumors is that Thanos didn’t use the gauntlet to destroy half of the universe, but instead used the Soul Stone to send the fallen heroes to the Soul World.

Besides the Mind Stone, the Soul Stone is the only gem that Thanos doesn’t use, even though he received it early on in his fight against the Avengers. This stone is sentient and has a desire to collect souls by trapping them in an idyllic dimension known as the Soul World.

Immediately after snapping his fingers, Thanos is transported to a beautiful, orange-colored paradise that the Russo Brothers have confirmed to be the Soul World.

If Thanos was sent here after using the gauntlet, many fans believe that the Avengers and Guardians could be there too. The Soul Stone could have used its sentient powers to act out of its own free will and transported everyone inside the gem.

If so, it would be easy to bring back our favorite heroes in Avengers 4. However, it would greatly undermine the amazing work done in Infinity War and Thanos’ exceptional character development.

HOPE: Shuri Will Become the New Black Panther and Recreate Vision or Ultron

One of the biggest surprises in Infinity War was the disappearance of Black Panther. Since Black Panther raked in the big bucks for Marvel, many fans thought he was untouchable. However, his absence may lead to the development of a new, crime-busting heroine.

Shuri has quickly become a fan favorite, leaving everyone wanting more of her witty comebacks and out-of-this-world innovations.

In the comics, she takes up the mantle of Black Panther, and with her brother’s absence, we may see her assume the title sooner rather than later.

One theory suggests that the Wakandans will recreate more of the heart-shaped herbs and install Shuri as the new Black Panther. However, when she receives the herb’s powers and enters the Ancestral Plane, she will notice that T’Challa is not there.

This will alert Shuri that her brother is still alive, and she will go on a hunt with the Avengers to find the missing heroes.

Some rumors even suggest that Shuri will be able to recreate Vision using Wakandan technology.

We know that she has scans of the stone and Vision’s body and that she has a brilliant mind, so maybe she could use these as a blueprint to bring back Vision, or even Ultron.

HOPE NOT: Avengers 4 Takes Place 5 Years After Infinity War

Things didn’t go so well for the Avengers in Infinity War, so they’re looking to clear the “dust” and start over new. However, their re-start could be five years later than they hoped.

Cassie Lang has been reported as the latest new addition to the Avengers 4 cast. According to rumors, she was cast to play Emma, Ant-Man’s daughter. However, Lang is six years older than the current actress that plays Cassie, Abby Ryder Fortson.

If Cassie is older, it could also mean that Avengers 4 will take place in the future. Therefore, some rumors suggest that the movie will start five years after the events of Infinity War and will feature the remaining Avengers working as S.H.I.E.L.D agents to create time-travel technology.

Set photos for Avengers 4 leaked in January show a clean-shaven Captain America, Tony Stark, and Bruce Banner with their original costumes from the first Avengers movie.

From these images, it looks as though they traveled back in time to relive the events of the Battle for New York.

With the inclusion of Ant-Man on set, many fans believe Hank Pym will be responsible for helping the Avengers create the time machine.

Although it would make an interesting plot, we would miss five years of the timeline and see very little of Infinity War’s aftermath.

It would also undermine Doctor Strange. If the end game was to travel back in time, why didn’t Strange do it in Infinity War?

HOPE: Each of the Six Original Avengers Will Take Control of One Infinity Stone

Benicio del Toro as The Collector with Infinity Stones

At the end of Infinity War, we dramatically watch as some of the Earth’s mightiest heroes fade away. When it’s all said and done, the only heroes left are Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, the Hulk, War Machine, Rocket, and Nebula.

Besides War Machine, Rocket, and Nebula, this consists of the six original Avengers from the first movie. Coincidence?

According to the Collector, when the Infinity Stones were created, a group of beings called Celestials shared the power of each gem among themselves. However, they were quickly destroyed by the stones’ powers.

Leaving all six of the original Avengers and six Infinity Stones makes it seem as though there’s a connection between the two. Could the Avengers wield the powers of the stones like the Celestials or will each have to set out on a journey to return one of the stones?

At the end of the movie, many fans believe that the gauntlet might not have the capabilities it once had.

This is where Eitri will come into play in Avengers 4. If each of the Avengers can obtain one of the stones from Thanos, then Eitri can use the mold on Nidavellir to create another gauntlet and use the stones to reverse Thanos’ actions.

This plot would also create a more interesting and realistic goal while avoiding the whole mess that is time travel.

HOPE NOT: Thanos Regrets Everything He Did and Restores the Universe

Thanos in Avengers Infinity War

With a snap of his fingers, Thanos was able to destroy half of the universe. So, with another snap, could he restore it back to what it once was?

Thanos is one of the most well-developed villains in the Marvel universe. However, in defining his personality and developing his backstory, the writers revealed his weakness.

The Mad Titan isn’t necessarily so mad and has somewhat of a moral compass with a sense of duty to accomplish what he feels is right.

In this, the writers created a slight opening where Thanos could potentially have a change of heart.

Now, this isn’t completely out of character for the MCU as they tend to like the “bad guy gone good” storyline – take Loki and the Winter Soldier for some examples.

We can even see his heart starting to shift in Infinity War. At the end of the movie, little Gamora asks Thanos if he accomplished his goals and what the cost was. He responds by telling her “everything” with the biggest look of regret on his face.

This scene and Thanos’ puppy dog eyes have caused many fans to believe that Gamora could be the key to changing the Mad Titan’s mind. His love of the child could be enough to reverse all the damage he has done.

However, hopefully, this is not the way the Avengers and Guardians return in Avengers 4. It would undermine the entire plot of Infinity War and undo one of the greatest movies and endings of all time.

HOPE: The Skrulls Will Invade Earth

Kevin Feige revealed that the Skrulls will be Captain Marvel’s main antagonist and will be introduced in her standalone move in 2019. Therefore, a new rumor surfaced reporting that these shapeshifting aliens may play a small role in Avengers 4.

According to this rumor, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are tracking extraterrestrial signals in Wakanda during the end-credit scene of Infinity War. Since they don’t know about Thanos and his stint on Earth, Fury could be under the impression that the threat is something else he has encountered before – Skrulls.

Since we might potentially see him dealing with the Skrulls as a younger Fury in Captain Marvel, he may assume that they’re back to invade. Hence why he sends Captain Marvel the distress signal.

The rumor then goes on to suggest that in Avengers 4, Hawkeye will be revealed to be Ronin. Ronin is the identity that Clint Barton donned in the comics when he rejoined the New Avengers after the events of Civil War.

As Ronin, Hawkeye will be shown in Tokyo on a mission to hunt down Yakuza disguised as Skrulls.

This is not far off from the comics, where the Kree-Skrull war reignited because they both thought the other race was responsible for half of their people disappearing.

HOPE NOT: Captain America and Iron Man Will Sacrifice Their Lives to Bring Back the Fallen Heroes

During Infinity War, Captain America made it a point to tell Vision that they don’t trade lives for lives.

Then, Vision brought up the time when Steve Rogers sacrificed his own life during the events of Captain America: The First Avenger. Could this have been a slight hint of what could happen in Avengers 4?

Captain America is one of the most likely characters to lay his life down in order to save his teammates, and some fans believe that he will offer a trade – his life to bring back some of the heroes that disappeared.

Iron Man has also been rumored to take the same path. Doctor Strange traded the Time Stone in return for Stark’s life and told him that they’re in the end game now.

Therefore, it appears that Iron Man’s survival – at that very moment – was key to taking down Thanos in the future. Could he become the sacrifice needed to bring back the rest of the team?

The end of Captain America and Iron Man have been rumored for a long time now.

Chris Evans has gone on record to say that his contract expires after Avengers 4 and he expects to retire from acting. Robert Downey Jr’s contract has been wishy-washy, but the general consensus is that his current timeline is up at the same time.

Although these rumors are not popular with Cap and Iron Man fans, we may see the two meeting their demise in Avengers 4.

HOPE: Avengers 4 Will be Called Heroes Reborn and Will Set Up the X-Men in the MCU

The biggest rumors surrounding Avengers 4 is the title of the movie. To date, the name of the fourth Avengers movie has not been released to prevent “spoiling of what comes before it.”

One popular rumor, however, suggests that the title of Infinity War Part 2 might be Avengers: Heroes Reborn.

The name “Heroes Reborn” was used as a publishing event between 1996 and 1997 to identify a story that came after “Onslaught,” an X-Men story that ended with the sacrifice of all the non-mutant superheroes in the Marvel Universe to bring the end of the titular villain.

In Heroes Reborn, all the fallen heroes were relaunched and set in a very well-received and popular alternate Marvel Universe.

Prior to Infinity War, the directors said that the third Avengers movie would be the “end of the first chapter” and would set up the MCU for its next phase. Adopting the Heroes Reborn timeline would definitely reboot the Marvel Universe and create a unique way to move forward with their next phase.

If this plot is implemented in Avengers 4, the writers could revive all the beloved superheroes without undoing the events of Infinity War or undermining Thanos’ character development.

It would also be a great chance to bring in X-Men and the newly acquired Fox characters into the MCU.

HOPE NOT: Nick Fury Was Part of Doctor Strange's Plan

Doctor Strange said that out of 14,000,605 alternate realities, Thanos wins every future timeline except one. This is why the Avengers and the Guardians enact their plan to destroy Thanos and why Doctor Strange gives up the Time Stone in exchange for Stark’s life. Strange says that these actions put them in line for the “end game.

However, what exactly is this game? One rumor suggests it has something to do with Nick Fury.

During the Infinity War end-credit scene, we see Nick Fury and Maria Hill driving in a car until they hit a car with no driver. Fury tells Hill to call control for a “Code Red” but she disappears before she can act.

Then, without hesitation, Fury immediately goes to the car and pulls out a pager to call Captain Marvel. However, it's important to notice his actions during this scene.

He instinctively knows what to do and doesn’t change his emotions or falter. It is as if he was already warned about the incident.

This rumor suggests that Doctor Strange actually went back in time while Iron Man, Spider-Man, and the Guardians were contemplating what to do or at some point during their battle with Thanos.

Then, he found Fury in the past and warned him of Thanos and the impending destruction of half of the universe. Strange tells Fury exactly what to do and informs him that if people start disappearing, he should immediately call Captain Marvel.

This may be why Captain Marvel is set in the '90s.

HOPE: The Silver Surfer Will Appear in the Movie

Rise of the Silver Surfer

Prior to the release of Infinity War, rumors began surfacing that The Silver Surfer might make an appearance in the movie.

This rumor was based on a cast list posted to Metacritic that revealed an actor named Curt Clendenin would play the iconic Marvel character. However, the hero was nowhere to be found in Infinity War.

When asked if the Silver Surfer would make his way into the third Avengers movie, Anthony Russo said, “I don’t think we own Silver Surfer. But it’s fan-wish fulfillment and, you know, if this Disney-Fox deal goes through there’s going to be a lot more characters coming into the Marvel universe, so some of those crazy fan theories might come true.”

Although the Disney-Fox deal is complicated, fans still believe the Silver Surfer can make his debut in the MCU.

However, since filming for Avengers 4 finished in January 2018, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll see the Fox character in the next movie. However, it doesn’t stop people from wishing.

In the comics, the Silver Surfer is the first to warn the Avengers that Thanos has acquired the Infinity Stones and is planning to destroy half the universe. In fact, he falls to Earth after an altercation with the Mad Titan and lands in Doctor Strange’s house just like the Hulk did in Infinity War.

With the Hulk also taking the Silver Surfer’s role at the Grandmaster’s Arena in Thor: Ragnarok, many fans are wondering if Banner will continue to reprise the metallic hero’s part in Avengers 4.

HOPE NOT: Adam Warlock Will Appear in the Movie

We’ve all heard this rumor repeatedly over the last few years. Ever since the introduction of Adam Warlock’s cocoon in Guardians of the Galaxy, fans have been theorizing about when he will make his big debut in the MCU. However, every time the fans ask, they’re always shut down.

Many Marvel fans believed that Warlock would be included in the Infinity War movies because he plays an important role in the Infinity Gauntlet timeline.

In the comics, he was gifted the Soul Gem by the High Evolutionary, giving him the powerful ability to transport souls into the Soul World. He even led the fight against Thanos to recover the infinity stones.

With Thanos revealed to be in the Soul World at the end of Infinity War, Avengers 4 seems like the perfect place to introduce Warlock – the key to retrieving the infinity stones in the comics.

However, Joe Russo has reported that he’s not interested in recreating the comics.

He told Comicbook.com, “[Adam Warlock’s] not showing up in our stories. Look, our job as we said a million times is to tell the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not to do direct adaptations of the comics because we’re comic book fans.”

So maybe it’s time that we stop spreading the Adam Warlock rumors. Since he’s such an influential character in the Marvel Universe, Warlock deserves his own movie rather than a small role in an Avengers movie.

HOPE: The Avengers Will Beat Thanos With Stark's B.A.R.F Technology

Appearing on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, director Joe Russo revealed a major hint to the plot of Avengers 4.

After talking about rumors about set photos Russo said, “Certainly, there is a five-minute sequence in Civil War around a piece of technology that was laid in for a very specific reason. If you go back and look at that movie, you may get a hint as to the direction.”

This piece of technology is most likely Tony Stark’s B.A.R.F technology. Standing for “Binary Augmented Retro-Framing,” this device is a virtual-reality system that connects with a user’s hippocampus and allows it to find traumatic memory. B.A.R.F can then alter that memory and project it onto an external infrastructure.

The initials B.A.R.F was spotted on a box in leaked Avengers 4 photos and could confirm its use in the movie. The Avengers may use the device to review their battle with Thanos in a simulation and come up with a plan to stop him.

However, some fans believe that Stark could alter the capabilities of the B.A.R.F and use it for so much more than reliving and overcoming traumatic experiences.

With the right tech, he could potentially evolve his tool to become capable of altering the past.

If this rumor were true, it would be a great nod to Captain America: Civil War and create an interesting and unexpected integration between the movies.

HOPE NOT: Stark Becomes a Temporary Sorcerer Supreme

Robert Downey Jr in Doctor Strange's Cloak in Avengers Infinity War

Doctor Strange looked into future timelines and saw 14,000,605 possible alternate universes. Out of each of these outcomes, the Avengers and the Guardians only manage to win once.

Because of this insight, fans are made to believe that Doctor Strange had a game plan. He traded the Time Stone for Tony Stark’s life because they were now in “the end-game.”

However, this also means that Strange believes that Stark is the key to winning in the future. So, what is Stark’s role in defeating Thanos?

A behind-the-scenes video for the MCU showed Robert Downey Jr. wearing Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation. Could this mean that Doctor Strange was saving Stark so that he could become a temporary Sorcerer Supreme?

In the comics, Stark becomes a Sorcerer Supreme in an alternate timeline. With his vast technical experience, it could be possible that Stark is able to mimic Strange’s powers in Avengers 4 through the world of technology.

However, if this rumor is true, Wong would be terribly wronged.

Assuming that the Master of Mystic Arts is still on Earth, he should be the one to take over in the event that Doctor Strange ever goes missing. Otherwise, it completely destroys the teachings of the Ancient One and undermines the abilities of Doctor Strange.

HOPE: Pepper Potts and Tony Stark Have a Child

During the beginning of Infinity War, Tony Stark tells Pepper Potts about a dream that he had.

In this dream, they had a kid that they named Morgan after Pott’s uncle. Stark insists that the dream felt very real and that he woke up thinking that they may be expecting.

This scene seemed out of place compared to the rest of the movie, but it might be a scene added to foreshadow events to come.

In an interview for the official Avengers: Infinity War magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow, the actress who plays Pepper Potts said, “Pepper and Tony have a real long journey together. She obviously starts as his dutiful assistant, and then the relationship evolves, and now this decade later they’re married, and they have a child. Their relationship has evolved in all of the ways that great romances evolve.”

However, wait a minute – Stark and Potts aren’t married and definitely don’t have a child in Infinity War. So, is she referring to scenes from Avengers 4?

This could potentially explain the awkward baby dream scene, and also clarify why Potts is so worried when she calls Stark as he lands on Ebony Maw’s spaceship.

Considering Stark’s relationship with Peter Parker and his reaction at the end of Infinity War, we all know that he will make a great dad. Having a child could also greatly influence Iron Man’s actions in Avengers 4.

HOPE NOT: Spider-Man in Infinity War Was Actually From the Future

When Spider-Man leaves the comfort of his school bus and joins the battle against Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian, Tony Stark asks the kid where he came from. Although Parker says, “field trip to MoMA,” some fans actually heard “I’m from the future.”

Although this doesn’t have very much credibility, the confusion sparked rumors that the Spider-Man that we see in Infinity War is actually from the future.

When Doctor Strange determined his plan for the “end-game,” some fans believe he traveled to the future to talk to an older Peter Parker.

According to this rumor, Spider-Man never made it onto Ebony Maw’s ship. Instead, Iron Man’s parachute worked and the kid went back home to Earth.

Then, the future Spider-Man took his place to provide hints to the Avengers. For one, when Spider-Man was disappearing he told Stark that he didn't “want to go.

By using this exact phrase instead of “I don’t want to be destroyed,” he could be trying to tell Stark that he’s not actually perishing but being sent to another universe.

It also explains why Spider-Man uses so many movie references throughout the film. It's the future Spider-Man's way of sounding like he belongs in that time period.

Hopefully this rumor is not true, as it has a lot of holes. For one, Spider-Man didn’t actually say he was from the future. Secondly, everything about the rumors just sounds too coincidental.

HOPE: Thor Will Rebuild Asgard on Earth

At the beginning of Infinity War, we see the Asgardian ship in ruins and Thanos destroying all that was left of Asgard. However, when Thor talked about Thanos’ quest with the Guardians of the Galaxy, he said that the Mad Titan only decimated half of his people. So, what happened to the rest?

Joe Russo provided an answer to the looming question at a recent fan event. He said, “Prior to the start of that scene, escape ships were deployed for Asgardians, including Valkyrie.”

When asked about Korg and Miek, he simply responded by saying “Spoilers,” which likely means that the two Ragnarok favorites are also still alive.

However, where are they now? What happened to the female, butt-kicking Asgardian and the two resistance starters?

After the Asgardians left Asgard, they set their sights on Earth as their new home. Therefore, it would only make sense that they used the escape ships to head to Earth.

Hopefully, this rumor turns out to be true because it would be a great beacon of light in the darkness that the Asgardians have experienced over the last two MCU movies.

Thor could also join them once he finishes up in Wakanda and help to make moves towards a brighter future.

However, if Thanos already decimated half of a population prior to using the Infinity Gauntlet, does that mean that the gauntlet halved the population again?

HOPE NOT: The Avengers That Disappeared are Living in a Better Universe and Won't Want to Come Back

During the opening scene of Infinity War, Ebony Maw recites Thanos’ words of salvation.

He tells the Asgardians to “hear me and rejoice. You have had the privilege of being saved by the great Titan. You may think this is suffering. No – it is salvation. The universal scales tip towards balance because of your sacrifice. Smile… for even in [the afterlife], you have become Children of Thanos.

Although this chant sounds like a recitation used to get under the skin of Thanos’ victims, it may actually be a hint at life after Thanos.

Thanos isn’t depicted in Infinity War as a terrible monster. Instead, his entire motivation is to save the universe from itself.

He has a sense of morals and doesn’t actually enjoy cruelty. Therefore, some fans think that his mission really is to provide salvation.

One rumor suggests that when Thanos snapped his fingers, he sent half of the universe to an alternate dimension. In this dimension, the fallen heroes aren’t imprisoned, but rather living in a euphoric state.

This also falls in line with the rumor that Thanos actually sent half of the universe to the Soul World rather than simply making them vanish. The Soul World is an idyllic dimension that many don’t even realize is a prison.

So, what if the Avengers and Guardians find themselves in utopia and simply don’t want to leave? This would add an interesting twist to Thanos’ character but would ultimately destroy the image of the Earth’s mightiest heroes.

HOPE: We Will See What Happened When Thanos Invaded Xandar and Be Introduced to Nova

At the start of Infinity War, we see Thanos sporting the Infinity Gauntlet with the purple Power Stone already in its place. Later on, when Thor meets the Guardians, the God of Thunder tells them that “Thanos already has the Power Stone because he stole it last week when he decimated Xandar.”

This is all we learn about the decimation of Xandar and the Nova Empire. However, some rumors suggest that we’ll learn more in Avenger 4 through a flashback to the moment when Thanos acquired the Power Stone.

A flashback to Xandar in Avengers 4 would explain a couple of plot holes in Infinity War. It would show exactly what happened to the Nova Empire and who is left on the planet. It could even lead to the introduction of the superhero, Nova.

In the comics, Nova Corps is destroyed by a villain claiming to be a child of Thanos. Although the planet is completely decimated, one young man named Richard Rider survives and as the last survivor of Nova, becomes exposed to the truth of their power: the Nova Force.

Since Xandar seems to have been destroyed in the same manner in Infinity War, we could see Nova helping the Avengers in the upcoming movie.

Other fans have also suggested we’ll see the missing fifth member of the Black Order – Supergiant. The theory is that Supergiant wasn’t in Infinity War because she was defeated during the battle for Xandar.

HOPE NOT: Everyone That Disappeared is In a Parallel Universe Connected to the Quantum Realm

After Infinity War, many fans rushed to find ways to cope with the loss of their favorite characters. Therefore, there were tons of theories that suggested multiple scenarios where the characters aren’t completely gone.

At the end of the movie when Spider-Man disappeared, Peter Parker told Tony Stark, “I don’t want to go.

Although this might have been a euphemism, some fans believe that he distinctively said this statement rather than “I don’t want to meet my demise,” because being erased from existence doesn’t necessarily lead to the end of the line.

Instead, our favorite heroes could simply be stuck in an alternate timeline or a parallel universe.

An alternate dimension provides a way for the remaining Avengers to save the ones who were sent away. One theory is that the Quantum Realm will come into play and Ant-Man and the Wasp will somehow find the backdoor into the parallel universe through the realm.

Other rumors suggest that Wong will be able to find a way into the parallel dimension through his mastery of mystic arts.

In Doctor Strange, we see the Ancient One send strange through many different universes which may hint at Wong playing a bigger role in the next movie.

Captain Marvel is also another hero tapped to reach the alternate universe of fallen heroes. Since her predecessor Captain Mar-Vell had a sense of cosmic awareness, she may also be revealed to have some powers to detect disruptions in the realms.
