The latest batch of news for the MCU states Avengers 4 will undergo reshoots this summer, while Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will wrap filming at the end of the year. For the first time in awhile, the MCU only has a limited number of movies on the books. Though dates are locked in for 2020-2022 Marvel movies, only five have been confirmed now that Avengers: Infinity War is out. Ant-Man & the Wasp is well into its promotional cycle ahead of its release next month, but 2019 and beyond is still relatively mysterious in terms of plot specifics.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is too far out to have anything concrete known at the time, but next year will see three new MCU films release and marketing should begin before long. Captain Marvel will get the first crack at promotion given it has less than a year until it releases, but we should learn more soon about Avengers 4 and Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. Naturally, the existence of the latter means the former will need to bring Peter Parker back to life. But thanks to the latest production news, we're likely to know more soon.

Christopher Marc from Omega Underground has two new production updates for the MCU. The first claims that Avengers 4 will get reshoots this summer that will last until September, while the second states the follow-up to Spider-Man: Homecoming will wrap in December.

The untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is said to start filming this summer, which makes sense given its July 2019 release date. Therefore, 5-6 months of shooting means it will wrap at the end of the year and head into post-production. That also means that much of the rest of the year will be filled with set photos and videos, offering us a look at the new plot and characters. One big one will be Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, a villain fans have been eager to see on the big screen.

We also know Spider-Man will have a 'femme fatale' character, with speculation about her identity ranging from Black Cat to Spider-Woman. Then there's the fact that another big MCU cameo is expected in the film, meaning Spidey could join forces with another Avenger in his next solo film.

The news of reshoots for Avengers 4 isn't surprising as they're commonplace for blockbusters these days. But with so little known about next year's follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War, images from the set could offer us more insight into the plot. Aside from revealing which characters are coming back to life, Avengers 4 may bring new villains to the MCU. With the summer filled with filming for both Avengers 4 and Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, expect a lot more news to be right around the corner.
