Jeremy Renner is back and ready for action as Hawkeye on the set of Untitled Avengers. Anticipation is running high for the end of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the attention from fans continues to stay on the elongated wait for the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios is also focused on completing production on the followup film. Avengers 4 is largely shrouded in mystery, with only leaks from the set providing hints at what is to come.

Throughout the production on the fourth Avengers film, one of the characters that has been the subject of much attention has been Clint Barton. The circumstances may not be clear, but Hawkeye's transformation and upcoming character arc is one of many unanswered questions. Renner's latest tease doesn't offer up more insight, but does highlight the actor prepping for Barton's continued heroic efforts.

Renner posted the new photo from the set of Avengers 4 on Instagram today. Renner's costume is concealed with his jacket and his eye masks show he's gearing up for today's shoot. He doesn't reveal what type of scene he is filming, but as an original member of the Avengers in the MCU, we can only hope he's getting his big moment now or at some other point.

Filming on Avengers 4 has been ongoing since the middle of the summer and started up almost immediately after Infinity War wrapped. Renner is just one of several actors set to appear in both installments, but the early indications from the set show he in particular will get a big role. Whether or not this new look and big role will take place in the current timeline or part of an alternate reality remains to be seen, but it could give Hawkeye his best arc regardless.

Renner and other actors may currently be filming Avengers 4, but Marvel is finally starting to lift the veil on Infinity War. In doing so, further teases on what Untitled Avengers will bring have continued. It was just recently stated by Kevin Feige that this film will serve as a finale to the MCU. That doesn't mean this is going to be the end however, with the Marvel Studios president also teasing plans for 20 more movies after Avengers 4. The story being told in the next two Avengers flicks will absolutely influence where the MCU goes next, and thankfully Marvel has a plethora of options at their disposal. But, before they set those plans in motion, they'll have to see how Avengers 4 shakes out.
