Avengers: Infinity War is already positioned to be Marvel Studios' biggest film, but it will also see new characters join the ranks. The Avengers may have only started out as an idea that saw Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye as teammates, but the roster of superpowered individuals continues to grow. Avengers: Age of Ultron saw Vision, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Quicksilver, and Falcon join the ranks in various degrees, so it should come as no surprise that Infinity War will expand the roster even further.
While it is unclear if they will be honorary Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be crossing over and working with the re-assembled team. As exciting as that will be, it appears that the Infinity War will also see the introduction of brand new characters as part of the team.
Dave Bautista was a guest on the Talk Is Jericho Podcast and was asked about what or rather who fans can look forward to seeing in Drax's next appearance. Many of the characters have already been confirmed to be returning for the ensemble, but Bautista says there will some new faces as well, in addition to the usuals of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans):
"Those are the prominent Avengers that have been in all the films, but they're really just adding so many characters in this. 'Cuz they're also starting to introduce other characters like they did in Captain America [Civil War]. They've brought in Spider-Man. But they're going to start moving into different phases of Marvel. So they're introducing other characters. Black Panther. They're gonna go a whole series of Black Panther."
There has been plenty of speculation that Brie Larson will make her debut as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in Infinity War, even though Kevin Feige has said otherwise. If she is not one of these characters set to be introduced - and neither is Adam Warlock - then it's anyone's guess what new heroes will be introduced.
Casting has not been a major focal point for Infinity War with so many of the roles already claimed, and there likewise haven't been many reports of specific characters that will debut. The biggest new addition to the cast is Peter Dinklage in an unknown role, so he is possibly one of the new characters that Bautista teases, although it is unclear if he will be super-powered or not. Either way, the possibility of even more heroes being featured is exciting and could open up the door for the likes of Nova, Beta Ray Bill, Mar-Vell, and many more to get their big screen introductions.
