Avatar’s critics may claim that the film has lost its relevance in the cultural memory, having lost momentum since its release 13 years ago. With the re-release of Avatar in theaters, however, the publicity team is adding to their carefully-crafted release plan that builds the hype for Avatar: The Way of the Water. Their other publicity strategies have included partnering with LEGO to launch an Avatar-themed LEGO set, and the release of the stunning teaser trailer for Avatar: The Way of the Water. If the re-release of Avatar is successful, the box office future of Avatar: The Way of the Water could be extremely promising. With its 4K digital update as well, the visuals that defined the original film can be showcased again to new audiences. Avatar will hit theaters again on September 23, 2022, for a limited two-week release period.
