The full cast for Netlfix's live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender show has officially been revealed. Nickelodeon's beloved animated series might have ended in 2008, but Netflix announced plans for a live-action adaptation in 2018 with the original show creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko spearheading development. They eventually exited the project due to creative differences, but Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender moved forward with Albert Kim taking over as showrunner. The series is among the streaming service's most anticipated upcoming shows as longtime fans of the property are hoping for a better adaptation than M. Night Shyamalan's 2010 movie.

Netflix previously announced that the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender cast would be headlined by Gordon Cormier's Aang, Kiawentiio's Katara, Ian Ousley's Sokka, and Dallas Liu's Zuko. While they are the main characters of the original animated series, the show will also include a number of other familiar faces. Avatar: The Last Airbender's cast also includes Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung as Uncle Iroh, Maria Zhang as Suki, Yvonne Chapman as Avatar Kyoshi, Casey Camp-Horinek as Gran Gran, and Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari. However, rumors have continued to swirl about who could play the show's other prominent characters.

Avatar: The Last Airbender's Live-Action Cast Is A Huge Win

Amber Midthunder stars as Naru in Prey

The new additions to Avatar: The Last Airbender's live-action cast include a wide range of performers who are incredibly well known, on the rise, and a bit more unknown. The confirmation that Amber Midthunder is playing Princess Yue is a big win for the series now that Prey is a huge hit for Hulu. Meanwhile, George Takei voicing Koh gives the spiritual creature a very distinct voice. All the exciting casting announcements also follow Avatar: The Last Airbender's mission to include a very diverse cast that avoids the whitewashing criticisms rightfully levied against the 2010 movie.

The Avatar: The Last Airbender cast also gives fans some more potential insight into where the story is heading. Princess Yue and the Northern Water Tribe characters play key roles in how the animated show's first season ended, so their castings could indicate that Netlfix's first season will end in a similar spot. Changes will be made to the original series, though, as teased with Fire Lord Sozin's inclusion this early on. Regardless, Avatar: The Last Airbender's cast features a supremely talented group of performers.
