Hannah Gearan (she/her) is a Senior Writer for Screen Rant. Her deep cinema love traces back to age 11, when she equipped herself with a spiral-bound notebook, rated all the films she watched, and declared herself a critic. About a decade later, she received a BA from Wesleyan University, where she studied Film, Environmental Studies, and Writing. Hannah’s short film, Toxic Faucets, has screened at numerous film festivals, including the Independent Film Festival of Boston (IFFBoston).

While Hannah's film & TV interest is wide-ranging, her filmmaking background makes her particularly interested in writing about the technical and industry aspects of film such as VFX related stories, animation, and box office records. She will always hold a special place in her heart for the film that got her into film: Avatar (yes, the blue people, not the airbender!).

Her favorite directors are Wes Anderson, Kelly Reichardt, and Kogonada. Her current media-related obsession is telling anything that breathes to watch Birth/Rebirth.
