About Ann Lipsett
Annie is a life-long writer. She has been writing stories since she was ten years old and continues to write today. While a graduate MFA student, she wrote a full-length novel. Annie also has extensive news media experience. She recieved an Emmy nomination for her work as a news producer. She is grateful for this opportunity to write professionally because it is her dream come true.
Industry Focus
I am an animation connoisseur. Despite having minimal drawing skills, I have studied the medium and the industry extensively. Animation speaks to everyone because it presents an exaggerated decipiton of life. The art styles also transport viewers into completely new worlds. I am interested in examining the medium further through my writing.
Additionally, I know a lot about classic films and Oscars history.
Favorite Media
My favorite movie is Midnight Cowboy. The film offers a compelling look at two people who cling to one another against the gritty backdrop of 1960s New York City. At it's core, Midnight Cowboy is a love story, maybe it's between good friends, maybe Joe Buck and Ratso Rizzo are more than friends, it's all left up to viewer interpretation, and that's what makes their relationship brillant.
Also, I am an animation fanatic, with my favorite animated film being Chicken Run. The stop motion is fluid and the characters are interesting. I like how the clay is sculpted around the world Chicken Run creates. Sadly, I didn't like Chicken Run 2 nearly as much, but hey, most sequels aren't as good as the original.
