Atypical Netflix

Netflix has shared a trailer for Atypical's 4th and final season, which is set to debut on the streaming service on July 9th. The series was created by Robia Rashid, whose previous work includes writing for How I Met Your Mother. It centers on the Gardner family as their autistic son, Sam, seeks to be more independent, which causes some conflict with Elsa, his caring yet overprotective mother. The show stars Keir Gilchrist, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Rapaport, and Brigette Lundy-Paine as members of the Gardner family.

Netflix shared the season 4 trailer for Atypical on Youtube, and it shows Sam getting an apartment with his best friend Zahid while also contemplating what he wants to do after college. It also features the friendship-turned-romance between Lundy-Paine's Casey and Fivel Stewart's Izzie, which grew over past seasons. In its final season, the show looks to continue exploring the emotional highs and lows the family struggles through with the humorous tone audiences have come to love. Check out the trailer below:

Sam's journey over the course of the show has been to live more independently, and while he has faced numerous hardships and setbacks, he's poised to graduate college, which is something he thought he'd never do. As he ponders his future, it's likely that it will revolve around his immense passion for animals, particularly penguins, and his amazing artistic talent. While it's not yet clear how this will evolve into a career for him, the show will want to end the series on happy terms with an optimistic outlook for each of Atypical's likable characters. Audiences will get to bid farewell to the Gardners when Atypical season 4 releases later this summer.
