The trailer for Attack on Titan season 4 part 2 teases the end of the popular anime series, showing destructive Titan fights and Eren Yeager's plans. The anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama's manga first aired in 2013, lasting for 4 seasons so far and multiple OVA side stories. Animation studio, MAPPA, will continue to adapt the manga, having taken over from Studio WIT for the final season.

Attack on Titan's fourth and final season took the series in a surprising direction. Following a three-year time skip after Eren (Yuki Kaji) learned the truth about his home of Paradis from his family's basement, the season began by following Reiner (Yoshimasa Homoya) and the warriors of Marley on the other side of the war. After various battles and losses between the people of Paradis and Marley, it is revealed Eren has his own plans, as he turns on his former friends with his own Yeagerist faction. Ahead of Attack on Titan season 4 part 2's release in January 2022, a new trailer has offered a glimpse of the chaos yet to come.

Eren and his plan to destroy his enemies are central to the final season's story, with posters focused on the protagonist-turned-antagonist's journey being created to promote the second half. The manga reached its conclusion in April 2021 with the release of its 139th chapter after being serialized in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine for 11 years. A Hollywood live-action adaptation was announced in 2019 by Warner Bros., with It and The Flash's Andy Muschietti signing on to direct.

With many of the series' mysteries being revealed and the wider world of the series being explored, Attack on Titan season 4 part 2 promises to bring the series to a monumental climax. The series was a stand-out hit upon its first release and has since been considered one of the best-selling manga series of all time. Though the series has been met with controversy and criticism due to its use of certain imagery, the anime's final season will bring an era to a close.
