Here's Sasha's exit story from the Attack On Titan manga explained. Attack On Titan has grown into a giant - pun intended - franchise since the manga debuted in 2009. The series takes place in a world where humanity was overrun by man-eating giants called Titans, leading to the human race retreating behind walled cities. After a long period of peace, a Colossal Titan appears and breaches the outer wall, allowing in a swarm of Titans that feast on innocent civilians. The survivors regroup and fight back against the Titans while uncovering the shocking secret behind their origins.

The series' popularity exploded thanks to the Attack On Titan anime, which arrived in 2013. The show featured great characters and shocking twists, in addition to gory action and a well-fleshed out world. A two-part Japanese movie adaptation also landed in 2015, but while the creepiness of its central creatures received good reviews, fans were largely disappointed with both movies. Director Andy Muschietti (IT) is currently attached to a direct an English language adaptation of Attack On Titan.

Fun as the anime and manga can be, there's no denying Attack On Titan can be absolutely brutal. Fan favorite characters die horrible deaths with little warning, and getting eaten by a Titan rarely seems like a painless experience. Followers of the manga were dealt a huge blow during the Marley Arc of the series, which ended with the death of Sasha Blouse.

In both the Attack On Titan manga and anime, Sasha had one of the most memorable introductions, where she is seen eating a potato during training, to the amazement of her Survey Corps instructor. This earned her the nickname Potato Girl and her most common trait was being constantly hungry and looking for things to snack on. She also provided a little comic relief within the often grim world of Attack On Titan. Sasha also matured over the course of the manga into a great soldier, who was a crack shot with a bow and arrow or rifle.

In Attack On Titan's Chapter 105, Sasha is being evacuated from Marley alongside her squadmates on an airship. The Corps left a lot of destruction in their wake, and young Eldian soldier Gabi seeks revenge. She climbs aboard the retreating ship and opens fire on the soldiers within, with Sasha being hit in the chest. Gabi is soon subdued and arrested while Connie and Jean comfort the dying Sasha; fittingly enough, her final word is "meat." Sasha's Attack On Titan exit is all the more surprising for just how unexpected it was, and it helped reinforce the bloody, human cost of the Marley story arc. When Attack On Titan season 4 gets around to portraying her demise, there won't be a dry eye in the house.
