While the series may have reached its end in Japan with the release of the last chapter, Attack on Titan fans still have something to look forward to. The final volume of the series finally has a release date - as well as a trailer teasing the events within. The hit anime still has half a season left in its story, but readers will have the opportunity to read the final entry in the manga this Fall.

Attack on Titan began serializing in 2009 within Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. It has become a global hit, being one of the best-selling manga series of all time. For the last twelve years, fans have been following the adventures of Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert after they join Survey Corps to help address the threat of Titans. Eren would eventually be revealed to be a Titan himself - though a special one. Now, fans will be able to see the conclusion of the trio's epic adventures.

Created by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan released its final chapter in Japan back in April. The final volume, fittingly labeled as "The Ultimate End Game", is releasing this month. Check out the trailer from Kodansha US's official YouTube channel here and a synopsis for Attack on Titan Vol. 34 below:

Eren's titanic Rumbling claims thousands of lives beyond the walls of Paradis, and the boy who once lived in fear of the Titans becomes the world's most feared man. Determined to stop the destruction wrought by their childhood friend, Armin, Mikasa, and their surviving comrades reach the Attack Titan and decide to face him head on in an ultimate showdown. Will humanity finally be set free from the cycle of fear, oppression, and destruction, or will the Titans outlive their victims?

Isayama's work on Attack on Titan is award-winning and it has captured the attention of fans. Now, the thrilling conclusion will see the trio of friends forced to confront one another as their friendship is tested. The Attack Titan is Eren's alternate form and one of the Nine Titans stretching back to the time of the Eldian. This Titan has been an ally to the land of Eldia, but there is another Titan Eren possesses, thanks to his father - the Founding Titan, which the trailer mentions. This Titan was once possessed by the Reiss family, but this is no longer the case and its powers are limited due to Eren's blood.

The trailer emphasizes the themes of honor, loyalty, family, peace, freedom, and survival, all of which have been thoroughly explored throughout this manga's run. These are now reaching a culmination point as Marley - a land formerly conquered by Eldia - attacks Paradis to take back the Founding Titan. Marley was initially responsible for the Titans on the island of Paradis, making this war one that dates back to ancient times. The lore of Attack on Titan's world has gradually been expanding and becoming more complicated as the history of the lands have been revealed - highlighting power struggles. Now, these conflicts will all come to a head in the last Attack on Titan volume which will be released on October 19.
