Atlanta seasons 3 & 4 are delayed due to coronavirus. After already conquering the worlds of acting and music, Donald Glover further proved his domination of all things media as creator and star of Atlanta, the absolutely thought-provoking and definitely boundary-pushing comedy series, which debuted on FX in 2016 to critical acclaim. In 2018, Glover and company delivered a second season of Atlanta that brought even more surprises, including the now-iconic Teddy Perkins episode.

Given that it took two years for season 2 of Atlanta to arrive, fans knew they’d likely be in for a long wait for season 3, but now sadly it seems that wait will be even longer than expected. As reported by Variety, the upcoming third season of Glover’s groundbreaking show has been pushed back from January 2021 due to coronavirus, with production not expected to resume until the early part of next year. As a result, season 4 has also been delayed. The silver lining is that, according to FX chief Jon Landgraf, Glover and his writers have finished penning both seasons, which were always meant to be made back-to-back. Season 3 is now expected to arrive later in 2021 with no word on season 4’s possible premiere date.

Of course, very little is known about what Glover has in store for fans with seasons 3 and 4 of Atlanta, with Landgraf himself only offering the hint that the next two seasons represent “parts 1 and 2 of a new chapter in the series’ life.” Such vague clues obviously leave the door open for speculation, but with a show as unpredictable as Atlanta, such speculation is probably ill-advised anyway. Suffice it to say, the further adventures of Earn, Paper Boi, Darius and Van are eagerly anticipated by the show’s devotees, and given the show’s track record there’s every reason to believe that the next two seasons will at least maintain and possibly surpass the genre-bending creative level established by the first two.
