A reputable leaker has shared fresh details about The Siege of Paris DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The Siege of Paris counts as the latest Assassin's Creed entry's second story expansion, the first being the Wrath of the Druids content that Ubisoft deployed in mid-May. The next DLC release originally had a summer due date attached; however, Wrath of the Druids' two-week delay suggests the plans may have changed in this regard.

Originally set to drop on April 29, developer Ubisoft Montréal pushed the content rollout to May 13 in an effort to further refine the quality of the experience. By most accounts, such a decision seems to have worked in the DLC's favor. Wrath of the Druids launched to generally favorable reviews across the board; the core elements that made the main campaign work especially received high marks. But after spending a time exploring the 9th Century Ireland setting, fans are eager to see what awaits in Assassin's Creed's version of Paris.

In combing through AC Valhalla's game files, notable Assassin's Creed leaker j0nathan stumbled across previously unrevealed details about The Siege of Paris expansion. Wccftech relayed the news, noting that j0nathan's findings include a synopsis for the story. Set in 885, several years after the events of the main game in 877, The Siege of Paris takes place in the kingdom of Francia where a sole monarch rules the country for the first time in a century. Charles III, aka Charles the Fat, has already waged war against the Norsemen residing within his kingdom; his sights may soon lock-on to England, as well. After a new visitor docks into the Ravensthorpe settlement, Eivor attempts to avoid conflict with the kingdom in the south.

Moreover, rumor has it that The Siege of Paris will launch on November 9. It's worth noting, however, that such speculation is based on a PlayStation Store listing. As j0nathan explains in a comment to the above video, the November 9 listing likely serves as a placeholder date, given that it will mark the one-year anniversary of AC Valhalla's release. Since games often bill Season Passes as yearlong content offerings, it stands to reason November may be the cutoff for the new DLC's possible due date.

Because there are still so many questions in need of answering, Ubisoft will undoubtedly begin sharing details in the near future. E3 2021 may constitute the best place to unveil new information, too. In fact, the publisher has already teased that Ubisoft Forward on June 12 will feature fresh details about Assassin's Creed Valhalla and a few other titles, including Far Cry 6 and the next Rainbow Six installment formerly known as Quarantine.

AC Valhalla launched digitally and at retail in November 2020, just in time for the advent of the latest console generation. In addition to paid content offerings, players have also received access to free updates and seasonal in-game events.
