As if slicing through Anglo-Saxon armies wasn’t enough of a thrill, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla lets Eivor romance characters across England. After all, Vikings like Eivor needs to blow off some steam from time to time too.

Engaging in romantic relationships is a straightforward endeavor in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Much like other titles which also allow for player and NPC pairings (such as the upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077) users should select flirtatious dialogue options as they appear if they want to engage with that particular feature.

There are plenty of characters throughout Assassin’s Creed Valhalla waiting for Eivor to seduce them. But which characters are the best to romance and which are the worst?

Best Romance In Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Petra

Assassins Creed Valhalla Petra

To romance Petra in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Eivor must complete several tasks. First Eivor must build the Hunter’s Hut. The player must then complete two side quests for Petra. In the Huntress, Eivor helps Petra take down a pack of wolves. After dealing with the wolves, Petra asks for Eivor’s aid in finding her brother, Wallace. After completing both Assassin's Creed Valhalla quests, when the player next speaks with Petra, she will invite them to compete in an archery contest. Whether or not Eivor lets Petra win, the event culminates with Petra revealing her feelings for Eivor.

Worst Romance In Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Broder

A close-up of Broder in the sunshine in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Players are introduced to Broder while helping Oswald secure his crown and upcoming marriage to Broder’s sister. At the wedding, Broder approaches Eivor about a potential romp in the hay. Unlike some of Eivor’s other romantic partners in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Broder never seems to develop a connection to Eivor beyond lust. Broder isn’t a bad guy, though he is a bit crude and perhaps not the sharpest ax on the longship. However, it’s only a brief fling. Just be sure to call him Broder and not Brothir, his brother’s name, when saying farewell.

Best Romance In Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Estrid

Assassins Creed Valhalla estrid

Eivor first meets Estrid in Essexe. As a young woman, Estrid was forced into an arranged marriage with Birstan, ruler of Essexe. Estrid makes it clear that she is in an unhappy marriage and wishes to return to her homeland. Eivor helps Estrid by orchestrating a fake kidnapping.

Worst Romance In Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Sheer Reeve Stowe

Assassins Creed Valhalla stowe

The most disappointing romance in Assassin's Creed Valhalla has to be Sheer Reeve Stowe. Upon arriving in Luden, Eivor will have the option to flirt with the Sheer Reeve Stowe. Eventually, Eivor learns that Stowe is in love with another, and Eivor cannot hope to compete.

Best Romance In Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Stigr the Amorous

A shot of Stigr from Assassin's Creed Valhalla, looking annoyed.

Stigr is a flyting opponent in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla who can be found in Snotinghamscire. To woo this poet, Eivor will need to best him in a flyting match. While most flyting battles hinge on insults and self-flattery, flyting with Stigr is all about flirtation. With flyting lines like “I’m as good with my lips as I am with my tongue,” the mood is set by the end of the rap style battle. If Eivor wins the match, Stigr will ask if Eivor wants to get physical. Players have the option to say no, but who can resist Stigr’s charms?

Worst Romance In Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Randvi

Assassins Creed Valhalla randvi

As Sigurd’s wife, Randvi should be off-limits to Eivor. However, after a day of adventuring and drinking, Randvi confesses her feelings to Eivor. In her defense, Sigurd and Randvi didn’t marry for love, but rather to solidify an alliance between their clans. Still, Eivor views Sigurd as a brother, and sleeping with his wife no matter who initiated it is an act of betrayal. Whether or not Eivor beds, Randvi is one of the five decisions that impact the outcome of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Before Eivor can romance Randvi, the settlement of Ravensthorpe must reach level three.
