Throughout their journey, Eivor will meet several lovable characters with whom they can become intimate, but out of all of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's romance options, Petra stands out as the best of the lot. Ultimately, the game's romances cover a wide range of experiences, from one-time encounters and flirtatious moments to more serious, committed relationships that last an extended period of time. As such, each player can find the Viking partner of their dreams - but those seeking the absolute best romance option in AC Valhalla should pursue Petra in particular.

Every character you can romance in AC Valhalla needs wooing slightly differently, but Eivor will usually run into potential suitors as they explore the world and make connections with others. Besides choosing the right dialogue options, which are clearly marked with a heart symbol, they'll oftentimes need to complete side quests for these NPCs in order to boost their relationship. Petra is no exception, and players will need to complete many tasks for and with the charming hunter, but this is actually part of the reason why she's the best romance option in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Petra's Romance In Assassin's Creed Valhalla Is The Most Realistic

Out of all the romanceable characters in AC Valhalla, Petra's arc sets itself apart as the most genuine, realistic, and slow-burning. Unlike some other options, she doesn't immediately come across as interested in romance, instead, upon building the Hunter's Hut in Eivor's settlement, players will simply be met with a skilled, down-to-earth hunter who has the community's best interests in mind.

It's only after banishing wolves, exploring the countryside on a hilarious mushroom-induced trip, finding her missing brother Wallace, and partaking in an archery contest together that the two can take things to the next level, and this is precisely why Petra is Assassin's Creed Valhalla's best romance option; the relationship is given the chance to grow naturally. Eivor and Petra begin their time together as mere acquaintances, and it's through their shared quests that they begin to learn more about each other.

This realistic progression makes their relationship feel more complex and developed than other romances in the game. The slow-paced love story not only makes for an adorable narrative, but also gives players the chance to develop their own personal connection with the character, too, which further solidifies her position at the top of the list.

Romancing Petra In Assassin's Creed Valhalla Has No Consequences

When romancing Petra in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, there's also no risk of a potential negative impact on the game's story, which certainly can't be said for everyone. For instance, even though she's one of the most widely-beloved options, pursuing a relationship with Eivor's sister-in-law Randvi can lead to undesirable consequences, most notably a strained relationship with the protagonist's brother, Sigur. This has the power to impact events later in the game, whereas settling down with Petra will guarantee that the player's love life is conversely wholesome and drama-free.

Having the most complex love story and not influencing the main narrative in any negative way, it's clear why Petra is the best romance option in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Of course, at the end of the day, players are free to choose whichever partner they feel best suits their individual tastes - but realistically, Eivor will likely find the most happiness at the side of the sweet, caring hunter Petra.
