A new glitch in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has taken players to record new heights in the game, with Eivor being launched far into the atmosphere. This glitch is, of course, an instant death state for the player, but although the Viking Space Program never did get off the ground, it looks fun to try out nonetheless.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the latest installment in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise. Players travel back in time to the years 872-878 AD in Britain during the Viking invasion. As one of the Vikings invading, players take part in raiding parties and building up a new settlement for their clan. Along the way, the usual Assassin’s Creed subplot of Templars and the Order of the Ancients drag the player into all kinds of trouble. The game takes place across England, Norway, and, most recently, Ireland, which was added in as a part of the new Wrath of the Druids DLC expansion. The next DLC, The Siege of Paris, will be adding in France (or Francia) down the line.

The video of the new Assassin's Creed Valhalla glitch was posted to the game physics subreddit on Reddit by user u/BloonSolver, who discovered the glitch 15 hours into their playthrough of the game. The glitch seems to occur on a rope across a ruin, with the player carrying a pot of flaming oil. The player throws the pot of oil down onto an unsuspecting enemy and runs back along the rope, only for them to be flung into the sky when they reach the end. At this point the player is treated to a lovely view of the English countryside before dropping back down, causing a desynchronization - which is essentially a death screen in the game. Whether or not this glitch is even possible to recreate is unknown, as it appears that the physics engine was jarred for no reason in this instance. Still, players are welcome to try.

While these kinds of glitches are nothing new to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, this one is strangely reminiscent of the old Skyrim glitch where players would be launched into the sky when attacked by a Giant. Many of the comments on the post reference that the player is simply being called to Valhalla, the Viking version of heaven.

Assassin’s Creed is one of those video game franchises that has become synonymous with glitches and bugs, from the missing faces in Assassin's Creed Unity all the way to the most recent launch of Valhalla. With the release of Wrath of the Druids, it appears as if the series' penchant for surprising glitches is still very much intact. There is still no release date for Valhalla's next expansion, Siege of Paris.
