A new video posted to Instagram shows how real-life locations inspired some key places in Assassin's Creed Valhalla and how accurate the in-game representations are. The game, which launched in the last week for current and next-gen consoles, takes place during the 9th century with a clan of Vikings settling in England after leaving their home in Norway.

The in-game world in Assassin's Creed Valhalla includes a number of real locations. Places like London, York, and Norwich are all replicated in Ubisoft's latest title, with areas from Norway also showcased. Of course, there are also some fictional realms, with players able to visit the mythical lands of Asgard and Jotunheim. It also recently became clear that an important location known as Ravensthorpe is also based on a real-world place. However, this was actually an accident, with Ubisoft Montreal not meaning to include what was actually a genuine English village.

An interesting video has appeared on Instagram showing the real-world inspirations for various locations in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Posted yesterday, Assassin's Creed's German-language page shows some comparisons between areas from England and Norway that are featured in Ubisoft's hit game. The description accompanying the video states that "regardless of whether it is reality or in-game, the scenes in England and Norway are breathtaking." The footage demonstrates how impressive the in-game models and environments are and how they accurately represent places such as Stonehenge and the White Cliffs of Dover along with various forests and glacial lands.

Unfortunately, Assassin's Creed Valhalla has also become known for its numerous bugs. The game has dozens of graphical issues that can lead to broken animations and textures popping in and out of existence. But the worst offender is undoubtedly a recent glitch that could corrupt people's game files and forced players to delete the game and reinstall it. According to several users, this was the only way to fix the issue and be able to play the game once again.

Seeing just how accurate Assassin's Creed Valhalla real-world locations are is pretty impressive, especially when side-by-side comparisons are shown. It also gives a really good indication of just how much effort the developers have put in to make the game as authentic as it possibly can be. By all accounts, this hard work has paid off as Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been lauded as one of the best entries in the series for a very long time.
