Ubisoft has treated Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to an all-new Deep Dive Trailer, which highlights the key features of the game, including mythological places and weapons like Asgard and King Arthur's Excalibur. The location, which serves as a home to the Norse gods, further continues to expand mythic elements of the upcoming video game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla tells the story of the Viking invasion of the British Isles. Fierce warriors, Vikings took their pagan religious beliefs with them, which will be reflected in the game by incorporating mythic elements and legendary creatures from old Norse tradition. Even the reveal trailer for the game included a glimpse at Odin, the elder god of the Norse pantheon. Interestingly, it’s not solely about Norse mythology - English folklore will featured in the game, represented by the likes of Black Shuck, a terrifying black dog, and pieces of Arthurian legend (if not the mythical king, himself).

While there’s seemingly a lot to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in terms of story, content, and gameplay, Ubisoft has made an effort to store all the valuable knowledge about the upcoming game in a single Deep Dive trailer. The video focuses on setting the core features of the title while detailing the chosen time period and challenges that players will face. The most intriguing part of the video, however, has nothing to do with gameplay opportunities. Instead, players enjoyed a sneak-peek at Asgard - the mythical home to the Norse gods, including Odin. The famous Rainbow bridge is also shown in the video, which might suggest that players will be able to meet its keeper, Heimdall. Also revealed was that Eivor can acquire weapons and gear of legend, including the famous Sword in the Stone, Excalibur.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has all the chances to become one of the best latterday installments in the series, if not overall. It stands out favorably thanks to a rich cast of characters, characteristically broad gameplay opportunities, violent and deeply satisfying combat, and a wider range of RPG aspects. Specifically highlighted is the settlement management system, which adds a distinctive layer of new gameplay mechanics to Assassin’s Creed introducing a whole new activity to take advantage of.

Judging by the fact that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will give players the opportunity to visit Asgard and enjoy the godly realm in its full magical glory, its clear that this latest installent will delve into mythology even deeper than the previous installments in the series. Whether it is a beneficial shift for the series or not is for players to decide, but it is worth noting that Assassin’s Creed originally started as a fairly realistic and historically accurate franchise. Still, adding mythical elements enriches games with diversity and new ways to experience them, and they look pretty cool to boot.
