According to Bloomberg, Assassin's Creed is reportedly getting a new game set for release in 2023 that will focus on Baghdad. This will be heavily connected to Assassin's Creed: Valhalla but will also bring many old aspects to the franchise from the first Assassin's Creed game. The main character in both the past and the present will be none other than Basim.
Assassin's Creed returning to its roots is exciting for many fans as some haven't liked the fantasy aspect the games have taken. Assassin's Creed will always be well-known for using important historical events and shaping them into games, as well as using common myths, religion, or folklore from that time in the game.
War of the Ring
While War of the Ring is certainly no historical game, it bares many heavy fantasy elements that many Assassin's Creed fans have come to love in their games. This board game is based on the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien and allows players to fully immerse themselves in the game.
The game is for two players, but it's also possible to have four with two teams. One side controls the Fellowship of the Ring and their allies while the other controls Sauron and his forces of darkness. The objective of the game is about conquering territories with the end goal being to destroy the Ring of Power. The other side is attempting to conquer lands too and stop the other player from achieving their goal.

Timeline: Historical Events is a perfect game for Assassin's Creed fans that love the historical aspect of the games. Timeline gives players multiple different cards with a listed historical point on them.
On the back of their cards are listed the year these events happened. As each player places their cards down, they eventually have to flip the cards to see if they accurately put these in order chronologically. Those who know their history best will win the game faster.
7 Wonders
7 Wonders is one of the best examples of a board game Assassin's Creed fans would love. Not only does this game give players a pick of seven different cities from their ancient point in history to choose from, but it also brings these cities through a total of three different ages.
Fans of the video game Age of Mythology or other games that require building up an empire through resources will love this game, too. It's a game that requires players to stay on their toes and doesn't allow for playing at their own pace too much.
Splendor
Splendor has many different variants today, but the original game focuses on the Renaissance period in Europe, where players adopt the role of a merchant buying gems to obtain the most prestige points in the game and win.
There are many ways to obtain gems in the game, such as flat-out buying them or mining. Players will also want to form trading routes and use various means of transportation to try and obtain more gems at a faster pace. While this game isn't exactly something players in an Assassin's Creed game experience, it does cover a well-loved period from Assassin's Creed 2 and one of the best assassin's other games, Ezio.
Merchants & Marauders
Merchants & Marauders is a highly complex board game that many fans of one of the best Assassin's Creed games, Black Flag, specifically will love. This game gives players a variety of ways to attempt the game with two largely specific playstyles--merchants and marauders (or pirates).
Players can take an easy-going route of completing merchant tasks, or they can plunder other players' ships and steal their loot. While many players will love turning into a pirate in the game because it offers more rewards, it also gives much more risk to the game as bounties get placed on the players, and NPCs will begin to attack.
Ankh: Gods of Egypt
Ankh: Gods of Egypt will be a perfect game for any of the Assassin's Creed fans who were obsessed with Assassin's Creed: Origins. But, while this game does take place in Egypt, it features far more mythology, an aspect that the Assassin's Creed games have been exploring more and more.
Every player takes on the role of an Egyptian god with their end goal to wipe out the others and become the one true god. Throughout this game, the players will have various followers and resources to build upon. There are also many monsters that appear in the game that players can summon to their aid.
Cyclades
This game is a great fit for those enthralled by the inclusion of Greek mythology in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. The player's objective in Cyclades is for each to build a city during Ancient Greece.
This can only fully be achieved through the aid of the Grecian gods--Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Ares, and Apollo. Each of the gods offers different abilities, but each one can only be used once per turn, and a single god can only aid one player per turn, meaning players have to bid to receive the blessing of their gods.
Elysium
Fans who have played one of the best DLCs in Assassin's Creed from Odyssey will know Elysium as the field of flowers afterlife that certain heroes and demigods were able to come to after their death. In this board game, players play as demigods and tell their own tales worthy of Elysium.
This game is a twist of many different Greek demigod heroes that has the player's character gathering loyal supporters and conquering individual trials. The stories the players create are done through various cards, and those with the most overall points will be the game's winner.
Blood Rage
Blood Rage is an addictive board game that many fans of one of the best adventure games, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, will want to get their hands on. This game features various Viking groups and the ability to obtain several different mythical creatures to call to a player's aid.
Players are fighting for glory points, but every stat achieved is beneficial to the overall game. Maxing out a player's card stats not only lets the player survive better in the game, but it will also give them more overall points at the end. Plunder, pillage, experience Ragnarök, and die for the glory of Valhalla is what it takes to win this game.
Rising Sun
While there has yet to be any Assassin's Creed video game set in Japan, many Assassin's Creed fans have constantly begged for a video game to be set during the Feudal era. Due to this, Rising Sun is a perfect game that brings real history mixed with Japanese folklore.
Each player possesses a clan to control in Rising Sun and is competing to become the next Shogun of Japan. Each player can form alliances to take down their rivals, though they can just as easily betray each other to an enemy. Players can also summon Kami from the Underworld to fight at their aid, giving supernatural support to the conquest of Japan.
