Traveling in The Ascent is a climb, figuratively and literally. There are tons of nooks and crannies situated on every floor, and even more to be discovered as players rise in the ranks. As a bottom-tier character, forced to deal with grunt work for little to no pay, getting around quick and painlessly makes the jobs that much easier. While there are both safe and dangerous zones, as big as Veles is, walking around isn't the most productive way to travel. This is where fast travel stations come in handy.

The Ascent is a Cyberpunk action RPG taking place in the world of Veles, beneath the oppression of a mega-corporation called The Ascent Group. In a rapid torrent of unexpected events, The Ascent Group has collapsed, and the entire district players belong to plunges into a near-endless spiral of turmoil and greed. Since the Ascent group owns just about everything around the player, survival becomes the one and only motive, while everything around is up for grabs. As a worker, navigating Veles quickly will be the key to survival. One such way of moving around is the fast travel system, offered after some progress is made in the game. Here's how players can access it.

How to Fast Travel in The Ascent

The Ascent_Train Station

There are two methods for fast traveling in The Ascent, The first is to take a train. When players open up the map, there should be a red marker (M) symbolizing a transport area. Head to the marker, and hop on the train. Doing this will allow players to choose any other station located in an area they've been to before, and it doesn't cost a dime. The other method is to hail a taxi, this unlocks a bit later in the game. Hit left on the d-pad, and it'll open a menu. The cab ride is 1000 credits, but they will take the player just about anywhere.

Each level in The Ascent has a lot of terrain to cover. While fighting monsters and enemies through each area can be entertaining, constantly revisiting certain levels will begin to lose its luster. There are areas that will be revisited often due to the need for higher cyberdeck grade levels. Hacking is a major element in any cyberpunk world, and The Ascent uses it frequently for just about everything.
