Actress Bridget Regan was recently confirmed as the Poison Ivy of the Arrowverse, cast to play the role of the infamous eco-terrorist in Batwoman season 3. Regan will likely look familiar to regular viewers of the CW and other superhero shows, having played reoccurring roles on a number of television dramas, as well as some choice parts in several major films.

Born in Carlsbad, California, Regan studied acting at the North Carolina School of the Arts and relocated to New York City to pursue her dreams of acting on Broadway. After playing reoccurring roles on both Law and Order: Criminal Intent and The Black Donnellys, Regan won her first major television role as the Confessor Kahlan Amnell in Legend of the Seeker, a short-lived fantasy series produced by legendary horror director Sam Raimi. The series ran only ran for two seasons, but it won Regan a loyal following and made her a fan favorite for the role of Wonder Woman.

Regan went on to appear in the 2013 reboot of Beauty and the Beast, playing Alex Salter, the former fiancée of the titular Beast, Vincent. One year later, she took on the role of con artist Rachel Turner (aka Rebecca) in the series White Collar. Regan also found fame in 2014 acting opposite Keanu Reeves in the first John Wick film, where she had a brief but memorable turn as the friendly bartender Addy.

Bridget Regan as Dottie Underwood in Agent Carter TV series.

Despite this variety of prominent roles, Bridget Regan is probably most likely to be recognized by fans of superhero shows for her work as Dottie Underwood in Agent Carter. While it is still debated how much of the series centered around Peggy Carter's adventures is canon to the MCU, Dottie Underwood was still historically the first Black Widow to be shown in action. Either way, Regan was a wonder in the role, which showcased her chameleonic nature as an actress.

Regan later went on to play Sasha Cooper, a former Navy Intelligence Officer and polyglot, in the post-apocalyptic drama The Last Ship. At the same time, she played Rose (aka Sin Rostro), a sinister drug lord in Jane The Virgin. Most recently, she played the role of Frances Forsythe in the Spectrum Originals drama Paradise Lost, opposite Josh Hartnett, Nick Nolte, and Barbara Hershey.

Bridget Regan certainly has an impressive record as an actress, playing a wide variety of roles over the course of her career. This bodes well for the upcoming season of Batwoman, as the character of Poison Ivy requires an actress who can be both sensual and smart simultaneously. Given Regan's earlier roles, it seems safe to say that the Arrowverse has found the perfect Pamela Isley.
