CW’s Arrow star Stephen Amell decided to share a show-related tattoo he got to remember the series. Arrow aired for eight seasons on the television network and is responsible for creating the “Arrowverse” which encompasses other series, like The Flash, that were inspired by the show. The show’s popularity and success also aided in elevating Amell’s professional career.

Amell helmed the series, which centered on Oliver Queen’s quest to rid Starling City of its evil villains by wielding a bow in the name of justice and becoming the hooded vigilante known as the Green Arrow. Prior to Arrow, the DC superhero was well known in comic books, video games, and animated shows but had generally been ignored in live-action performances with the exception of Jason Hartley’s portrayal of the character in Smallville. Although Hartley did bring the character to life on the CW, Arrows version of the vigilante was much darker, intense, and revealing.

The series concluded last year, but Amell still reflects on his time as the Green Arrow. As a matter of fact, Amell recently posted a photo on his Instagram that shows some new ink he got to commemorate the series. Look below to see Amell's new Arrow body art.

In the series, Oliver Queen hosts an array of tattoos that link him to groups his character has encountered throughout his journey to become the vigilante. Queen also continuously has flashback sequences throughout the show in which he recalls the events that have molded him into a superhero. It appears that Amell has decided to take Queen's lead. Amell's new tattoo is an outline of an arrowhead similar to that of the seen in the show's title, forever linking him to the role. The photo's caption indicates that although he has moved on from Arrow, he will continue to remember the series that has played such an important part in his career.

The ink is very simple but also a fitting homage to his time with Arrow. Like Queen's tattoos, the outline will be a permanent reminder of what has helped shape Amell's career. However, Amell is not the first cast member to inscribe a symbol of the show to their skin. In 2019, Grant Gustin, who plays Barry Allen in the Arrowverse's The Flashadded a lightning bolt insignia to his arm. To many audiences, these corresponding superheroes will always be linked to the actors that introduced them to a new generation. Now, the new tattoo ensures that the Green Arrow will always be a part of Amell as well.
