Team Arrow faces its greatest challenge yet when Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is arrested by the FBI in next week's episode of Arrow. After years of working to protect his secret identity as the Green Arrow, it appears that Agent Samandra Watson (Sydelle Noel) is finally going to expose Oliver to the public and potentially derail his political career.
After a photoshopped image of Oliver as the Green Arrow almost exposed his secret in the second episode of the season, Oliver made the shocking decision to pass on the mantle of Green Arrow to John Diggle (David Ramsey), unaware that Diggle is suffering from a condition that's affecting his ability to make kill-shots. With Oliver now focusing on being the mayor as well as a father to his son, Diggle has taken over as leader of Team Arrow. In last night's episode, Diggle finally confessed his secret to the team, but their troubles are far from over.
In a promo for next Thursday's episode, titled "Thanksgiving," Oliver is arrested by Agent Watson in front of the eyes of the public. Diggle calls Oliver's arrest the most difficult thing they've ever had to face, saying that "the floodgates will open" if people think the Green Arrow is locked up. Diggle appears to be proven right as the trailer shows Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) preparing for an attack. Cayden James (Michael Emerson) threatens to unleash "the dogs of war."
The CW has released a synopsis for the episode:
Oliver celebrates Thanksgiving with his family but the happy moment is interrupted. Meanwhile, Black Siren returns to wreak havoc on the holiday.
The revelation that Cayden James will be among the first to take advantage of Oliver's arrest points to the fan theory that James is the one who created the photoshopped image at the beginning of the season.
It remains to be seen what evidence Agent Watson will use to take down Oliver, or what Oliver will have to do to somehow prove he's not the Green Arrow. Even though Oliver has found ways to explain his way out of difficult situations, Watson has never been fooled. Since Watson caught on to Oliver's trick of using someone else as a temporary replacement, Diggle's Green Arrow likely won't be enough to clear his name.
Season 6 of Arrow continues with "Thanksgiving" on November 23rd at 9pm on The CW.
