Flash Arrow Crossovers Will Be Annual Event

With mid-season breaks officially over, it’s time to begin looking into the future – and for The CW, that means getting fans ready for its three most heavy hitting dramas: Arrow, The Flash and Supernatural. However, instead of releasing trailers, the network’s opted to unveil a slew of new photos for the various series that can be found below.

Currently, The CW couldn’t be in a better place both creatively and financially. On Sunday, the network took home its first ever Golden Globe for Best Actress thanks to Gina Rodriguez’s work on Jane the Virgin. In addition, it’s been hitting rating strides across nearly all of its high profile series. So, even if the network has stated in the past that it isn’t profitable on its own – instead mostly acting as a syndication package machine for co-owners CBS and The WB – nothing seems to be stopping it from delivering the best content it possibly can.

All that said, however, there is a question of what the network has planned for the coming pilot season. Given the success of its existing dramas and renewal of most of them for the 2015/2016 season over the weekend, there isn’t much room for a lot of new series to creep in. However, at the moment, there’s been very little talk of what pilots are even up for contention at The CW this year. This isn’t to say the network will be taking a pass on the 2015 pilot season (they aren’t, that’d be insane), but it is possible the network’s more focused on the line-up it currently has rather than just adding to it.

Regardless of any of that, though, we find ourselves hard-pressed to find a single network that’s had as much a turn-around in recent years as The CW. Having gone from what seemed like a cruel joke to the home of some of television’s youngest skewing series (I.E. an advertiser’s dream), The CW has transformed itself into one of the best places for small screen content, and we couldn’t be happier about that - because a stronger CW means potentially stronger television in the years to come.
