The cast of Arrow is teasing a "tense" court room episode as Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is put on trial for being the Green Arrow. Oliver has successfully avoided being implicated as a vigilante since he was first accused in season 1, but now - thanks to Ricardo Diaz - Oliver may not be able to find a way out.
Oliver has endured threats to his secret life as a vigilante throughout the entire season. At one point, he was outed until Roy Harper took the fall for him. The accusations came back in the beginning of season 6 with an investigation led by FBI agent Samandra Watson. A doctored photo of Oliver as the Green Arrow was nearly the end of his secret identity. More questions were raised following Oliver's decision to fire two public officials who had been looking into his activities. After a brutal fight with Diaz, Oliver was arrested.
In an interview with TV Line, the cast of Arrow dropped tidbits about the upcoming trial of Oliver Queen in this week's episode, "Docket No. 11-19-41-73". Echo Kellum, who portrays Curtis, describes the episode as "Law & Order-esque". Dinah Drake actress Juliana Harkavy promises "one or two curveballs" from the witness stand that could have a big impact on the trial. Comments from Stephen Amell suggests that Oliver may not be as worried about the evidence against him as fans might expect: "Oliver’s confidence level is pretty high, based off a plan that has been hatched."
Emily Bett Rickards adds, "Things are tense, things are pressured," but there are "Plan Bs in place that are about to explode." It's hard to say if those "Plan Bs" are linked in any way to Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), who was shown making a surprise appearance as the Green Arrow in the promo for the episode.
Another wild card in the trial is Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), who can't seem to make up her mind about what side she's on. In last week's episode, she expressed fear toward Diaz and concern for Quentin (Paul Blackthorne). Cassidy reminds fans that "we never know what she's going to do."
It's also possible that Oliver's recent disputes with his former team members may come back to bite him in their testimonies. Some of the characters' loyalties are in doubt due to a lack of trust on Oliver's part, as well as Oliver's beatdown of Rene (Rick Gonzalez). However, at least Diggle will remain in Oliver's corner, despite their disagreements over Oliver's decision making. David Ramsey says Diggle is still trying to get Oliver "out of this damn thing."
Season 6 of Arrow continues Thursday, May 3 at 9pm ET on The CW.
