Throughout its eight-season run on The CW, Arrow was responsible for an almost innumerable number of huge TV moments. Though a large percentage of them were action-oriented, the show also had an enormous amount of emotional moments and more than a few scenes that could be described as incredibly heartwarming.

Arrow was a show that traded heavily on the personal interactions of its characters at the core. Fans were as engaged in their relationships as they were in the action scenes, mainly because one influenced the other on a regular basis. Here are some scenes that warmed fans' hearts.

Oliver Queen Goes Home

One of the most heartwarming scenes in the entire series happened in the very first episode. Oliver Queen, his father, and everyone on board their yacht were thought dead after an accident at sea sunk it.

In the pilot, Oliver made his return to his home where his mother and sister were waiting for him. His story was that he had survived on a desert island for five years, something fans would quickly find out was a lie. But the moment he reunited with his family was beautiful.

John Diggle Finds A Green Ring

Arrow brought more than a few new characters into the world of Green Arrow. One of them was John Diggle who was initially hired by Moira Queen to be her son's bodyguard. John was the first person to find out about Oliver's secret life.

Over time, John would adopt his own secret identity and help fight crime. But fans knew that there was more to John than met the eye, which was confirmed in the series finale when he found an extremely familiar glowing green ring. It was a moment fans had been waiting for.

Moira Queen Returns To The Show

Oliver's relationship with his mother was difficult after his return, particularly after he discovered she was at the core of a huge threat to the city. Still, there was a lot of love between them which helped guide Oliver.

When Deathstroke killed her, it was a heartbreaking moment for fans. But Oliver's sacrifice to recreate the universe resurrected Moira on Earth-Prime. It was sad that Oliver was dead but giving his mother a chance to live with her memories intact was wonderful.

John And Lyla Get Married, Again

Prior to his first appearance on Arrow, John was married to a fellow soldier and ARGUS agent named Lyla Michaels. By the time Oliver and John had met, that marriage had come to an end.

But John and Lyla reconnected on the series and got married, again. It was a beautiful moment for Team Arrow. Watching the two find happiness was a wonderful moment for the characters and fans alike.

The Birth Of Mia Queen

Mia Queen in Arrow Season 8

While the exact dynamics of her life changed dramatically during the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event, Mia Queen was still a hero. The daughter of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak, Mia was destined to be just that.

Her birth was a huge moment for fans of the series as this moment was the culmination of a courtship that started in Season 1. There will come a point that she will continue to play a role in the larger Arrowverse.

Roy Proposes To Thea

From the moment Roy Harper was introduced on the series, fans were waiting for him to suit up and watch Oliver's back. In a red version of Green Arrow's costume, he would do just that, though he tended to come and go from the series.

The post-Crisis story on Arrow saw Roy finally make a commitment to Thea by proposing to her. This moment was a long time coming as fans knew the bond between them was stronger than their on-again, off-again relationship had been depicted.

John And Lyla Become Parents

Nothing is ever simple on Arrow, particularly when it came to familial relationships. That was certainly true when John and Lyla became parents. The Flash's time travel shenanigans certainly caused some problems for them.

Originally, they had a daughter they named Sara after Laurel Lance's sister. But "Flashpoint" ended up replacing her with a son named John Diggle, Jr. By the end of "Crisis on Infinite Earths," Sara was returned to existence. It was a long road with a positive outcome.

The Bromance Between Oliver And John

To be fair, this wasn't so much one specific moment as it was a long series of moments throughout the series. As strange as this sounds, the most compelling relationship in the entirety of Arrow was the one between John Diggle and Oliver Queen.

John was the person who kept Oliver grounded and focused on his mission. At the same time, Oliver helped John find his path and was a big part of John and Lyla reconnecting. Each of their lives was better for having the other person in it.

Thea Visits A Lazarus Pit

A hallmark of Arrow was the various deaths throughout the series. No one was safe, which was made obvious at the beginning of the series when Oliver's dad died to save his son.

Thea Queen wasn't safe, either, almost dying at the hands of Ra's al Ghul at one point. Fans were happy when she was healed by a Lazarus Pit, though access to something so powerful always comes with a stiff price.

Oliver And Felicity Get Together

From the moment that Oliver and Felicity first awkwardly met at Queen Consolidated, fans knew that this was going to be the show's key romance. And it turned out that they were absolutely right.

While there were a lot of ups and downs for these two throughout Arrow, nothing compares to the moment that they first became a couple. It was a realization of everything fans had been wanting to happen for them.
